About the Opportunity
Nunkuwarrin Yunti now has two opportunities for Aboriginal Family Partnership Workers to join their multidisciplinary team based in Adelaide, on a full-time basis, to deliver the Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program (ANFPP).
The Program involves nurses and/or midwives and Aboriginal Family Partnership Workers working in partnership with women who are pregnant with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander baby and their families. It is a program of sustained and scheduled home visiting that begins during the antenatal period and continues until the child is 2 years old.
Reporting to the Nurse Supervisor (ANFPP) you will be responsible for supporting women to engage and remain engaged in the program and working with Nurse Home Visitors to deliver the Program.
You will also be responsible for providing advice and assistance on a broad range of cultural issues to ensure observance of appropriate cultural protocols and maintenance of culturally safe services to participating mothers and their families.
To be successful in this role, you will have an appropriate minimum two years vocational experience attained through previous appointments in a relevant field consistent with and sufficient to fulfil duties of this role (e.g. community health, maternal and child health or an early childhood setting) and/or vocational and/or tertiary qualification.
Appointment at Level 4 requires registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority or another suitable nationally recognised professional association.
This is an identified position for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples.
