About The Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity Program
The Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity Program is an Indigenous-led collaborative social change fellowship program based at the University of Melbourne and funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies.
The Fellowship is for proven and provocative social change makers committed to new forms of deeply engaged collaborative leadership, and is informed by Indigenous ways of knowing, doing and being.
Throughout the year-long Fellowship, the program provides the tools, resources and connections for Fellows, most of whom are Indigenous, to become deeply-engaged changemakers across the Pacific region.
About the role
Over the next 20 years the Atlantic Fellows for Social Equity (AFSE) will create a network of more than 400 change agents, innovators and social provocateurs.
The AFSE program provides capacity and freedom for social change leaders to create positive social impact at scale. Through a 12-month Fellowship and ongoing connection with the global Atlantic Fellows network, Atlantic Fellows will be part of a collaborative social change leadership network helping societies succeed and flourish, especially Indigenous communities.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Academic Lead will be required to work collaboratively with key stakeholders to enable selective and strategic scholarly engagement in a team context, thereby supporting the iterative design and delivery of the fellowship program. In addition, the incumbent will be required to work collaboratively on the development of a program of research that directly supports the Fellows, building on the excellence of program content and contributing to the Program’s narrative change work.
As an academic appointee in a non-academic department the Academic Lead will be required to maintain strong relationships and lead academic collaboration across the University of Melbourne and other key academic collaborators.
