Remuneration: $57,713.05 – $66,947.14 per annum pro rata + superannuation + salary sacrifice

The Accounts & Payroll Officer will report to the Finance Manager and is directly accountable to the Executive Manager Corporate Services. The position is responsible for assisting the Finance Manager to maintain the organisation's financial procedures and records, payroll services, accounts payable and receivable and providing timely administrative services.

The position may also be required to provide finance services to member services as and when required.

About You

To be considered for this position, you must have:

* Demonstrated working experience as an Accounts Officer, Payroll Officer or similar role.
* Experience in dealing with Salary Packaging and Fringe Benefits Tax.
* Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft correspondence, edit documents and write instructional information.
* Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with clients and external visitors, managers and staff at all levels and present a professional image.
* Good keyboard skills and demonstrated competence in the use of business technology and desktop applications including, Internet, Microsoft Office Suite (specifically with Microsoft Excel) and database packages.
* High level attention to detail and accuracy.
* Demonstrated competence in the use of MYOB and other accounting software.
* Good time management skills with the ability to effectively plan, organise and coordinate own workload.

Ideally, in addition to be above, we are looking for someone who:

* Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by their community.
* Has completed a Certificate IV in Financial Services or other relevant tertiary qualifications.
* Has experience working at a Public Benevolent Institution or within the Not-for-Profit Industry.

The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of employees, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Please note: In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require an unrestricted WA "C" Class Driver's Licence, and be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months) prior to appointment.

Applicants for this position must be legally entitled to work in Australia and will be required to provide evidence of this entitlement, such as an Australian or New Zealand passport, birth certificate, or foreign passport with a relevant working visa.
