About You
The Administrative Coordinator, Office of the Chancellor provides essential support to the Chancellor and secretariat function supporting Council, as well as executive support to the General Counsel and University Secretary. The position coordinates administrative secretariat support to Council and sub-committee meetings and provides advice and administrative support to Council members as required. The role also provides executive support to the Chancellor and the General Counsel and University Secretary, including diary management, arranging events and travel and the provision of advice on matters relating to the administration of Council business and administrative processes to support good governance more generally.
To be successful in this position, you'll have:
* Demonstrated experience in providing high-level secretarial and administrative support to a senior executive or equivalent in a university environment or similar large and complex organisation covering diary and travel management, correspondence, action management, document development and information management.
* Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills and the proven ability to liaise effectively and discreetly with a wide range of management, staff and external parties on complex, sensitive and confidential issues.
* Experience providing effective committee secretary support.
* Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team, remain calm under the pressure of events and deadlines and strong personalities.
* Proven capacity to prioritise tasks, be strategic, exercise discretionary judgment and solve problems independently.
* Demonstrated high level of computer literacy including: word processing; presentation software; email; boardbooks software; internet and electronic document management applications.
* Meticulous attention to detail and currency of information, including document management and version control capabilities.

Governance, Legal and Contracts group (within the Finance and Governance Portfolio) is responsible for the full range of governance, legal and contract management services to all areas of the University. Governance, Legal and Contracts group is committed to:
* providing high quality governance, legal and contracts services that are aligned and responsive to the commercial needs of RMIT and the regulatory requirements within which RMIT operates;
* a high level of customer service which means getting know the different areas of businesses we service and tailoring advice and support to meet their needs;
* assisting RMIT achieve its strategic objectives by working collaboratively with our University colleagues; and
* developing and maintaining relationships with subject matter experts within and outside of RMIT to ensure appropriate additional expertise is available when required.
