About You

Your work experience includes working within project work, ideally with experience or exposure to agile project delivery methodology. You have exceptional communication skills and can easily adjust your delivery based on stakeholder meetings and the workshops you will facilitate. You are successful in providing detailed and exceptional analysis and solution delivery, because you listen, probe, document, investigate and confirm key requirements between business users and technical design. Furthermore, you understand how to support change through business process re-design and application enhancements
or
implementation. Overall, your analytical skills and people's skills make you an invaluable team member.

Position Summary

The Business Analyst is responsible for the wide range of tasks associated with the development and on-going maintenance of the University's software systems. Tasks include business process analysis, requirements gathering, development of solution design, application configuration, design and development of enhancements, testing, user support and team training activities.

The Business Analyst works both independently and in teams comprised of functional and technical staff, as well as contracted external consultants on a variety of tasks and initiatives, such as projects, minor works and support. As a critical member of this team, this role will include some task-based leadership and the ability to independently take ownership of key initiatives. The Business Analyst will be required to report regularly on assigned tasks and sub-projects, to e
ffec
tively engage and communicate with staff at all levels across the University.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

* Demonstrated ability delivering within the SDLC, translating business requirements into functional designs and managing through to UAT, with extensive experience working across complex technology platforms, ideally with experience in on-line teaching and learning systems or student support applications.
* A demonstrated understanding of the trends and business impacts within the Higher Education IT industry including those in both administration and on-line learning,
* Demonstrated strong conceptual and analytical skills and an ability to think laterally to identify practical and workable solutions.
* Excellent communication, facilitation, influencing and negotiation skills, and the ability to adapt these to a diverse range of stakeholders and contexts. Excellent written communication skills with a proven ability to write quality tech
nical
documentation.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines as a productive team member, often in a project lead role, with proven ability to manage assigned tasks/sub-projects independently, within required timelines and within an open/evolving team environment as well as driving delivery through peers as required to successfully achieve goals.
