The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the ATSI Act and subject to the PGPA Act. The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to acquire land and water rights, and to manage land and water so as to provide economic, environmental, social or cultural benefits.
The Divisional Manager will lead the Central Division of the ILSC in delivering the ILSC’s core acquisition and management functions in South Australia, Northern Territory, Victoria and Tasmania.
Specifically, the Divisional Manager will lead the implementation of the ILSC’s Our Country Our Future Program and in doing so lead delivery of the ILSC’s National Indigenous Land and Sea Strategy and Regional Indigenous Land and Sea Strategies across a large and diverse regional footprint.
This is an exciting senior executive role that will play an influential leadership role in the ILSC’s vision that Indigenous Australians enjoy the rightful entitlements, opportunities and benefit that the return of country and its management brings.
Reporting to the Executive Director Programs, the Central Divisional Manger will be expected to:
- Lead and manage the key functions of the Central Divisional Office of the ILSC through effective leadership, planning, organising and the achievement of outcomes in line with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2005, NILS and OCOF Program objectives.
- Drive strategic partnerships with Indigenous owners of land and water country, corporate, philanthropic and government partners resulting in social, cultural, economic and environmental outcomes.
- Provide high-level advice and recommendations on the ILSC’s land and sea acquisition and management functions and activities to the ILSC Executive and ILSC Board.
- Lead, evaluate, review and report on Divisional activities, including the delivery of continuous improvement strategies, ensuring that the Division meets agreed KPI’s relating to the acquisition and divestment of land and sea and the delivery of benefits on Indigenous owned country.
- Lead and motivate a divisional team focussed on performance, partnerships and client outcomes.
