ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Client Assessment and Referral Consultant you will:

 

• Provide clinical expertise to address the sociolegal needs of legally aided clients.

• Undertake complex and comprehensive assessments and provide a consultancy role to legal officers regarding the sociolegal needs of clients and prepare detailed reports for solicitors and Courts, making recommendations where appropriate.

 

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced, self motivated professional who:

• Has strong communication skills coupled with ability to consult with internal and external stakeholders• Has extensive experience in mental health• Experience in making referrals and offering support to persons with mental illness

• Thrives working in a team environment and works well with others

• Experience with Guardianship Board, Mental Health Tribunal will be highly regarded

• Experience in reporting to Courts, Tribunals or Mental Health Review Board will be highly regarded

       

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS  

 

 

 

• Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check

 

• Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid working visa  

 

• Hold a Social Work Degree and be eligible for membership to the AASW

1. Describe your experience in working with clients with complex needs, outlining your understanding of issues for people with a mental illness?

 

 2. What types of services and support may such a client require and what obstacle might you encounter when arranging access to these services?

The selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining capability and suitability for the role.

This recruitment will be used to fill any current vacancies and may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future vacancies that may arise over the next 12 months.
