About the Role
This is a challenging but rewarding opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of people with disabilities.

As a Disability Support Worker you will provide 1:1 support to clients who have challenging behaviours, in order to achieve their goals, with a focus on promoting skills and abilities.

You will have the support of a multi-disciplinary team to facilitate the delivery of quality services and achieve positive outcomes of clients in a proactive environment.

About You:
You will possess resilience, self-confidence as well as the capability to assess and manage risks. You will have strong communication skills and a genuine interest in developing stable relationships with clients and actively supporting their individual needs. You may have qualifications relevant to the sector and/or be highly experienced in supporting clients with challenging behaviours.

This role will be based in Newcastle and surrounding suburbs.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in providing positive support to clients with challenging behaviour
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts across a 24/7 roster
  • Experience in utilising Behaviour Support Plans
  • Ability to maintain clients privacy and confidentiality
  • Driver’s license and your own car
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Certificate III in Disability or equivalent industry experience

Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check (where relevant to the role).
