ABOUT LEGAL AID NSW
Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid agency in Australia, comprising of a Central Sydney office and 27 regional offices in metropolitan and regional centres across NSW and a number of specialist services and advice clinics. ABOUT THE ROLES
We are looking for highly organised candidates and customer-focussed candidates to undertake various permanent and temporary Facilities Support Officer roles providing support to the Facilities Branch to deliver facilities services to internal customers.
Each role has a different responsibility:
- Mail and distribution – Delivering and distributing of mail, packages, NSW Police briefs, stores and equipment as well as providing general support to the team.
- Finance (28hpw) – Processing purchase orders and invoices, confirming receipt of goods and services and maintaining financial records and using SAP and Excel. This role also responds to Service Desk requests for assistance with facility related matters.
- Facilities management – responding to ServiceDesk requests for assistance with leased tenancy and motor vehicle matters, liaising with internal customers and contacts contractors and property managers to arrange for tenancy repairs and maintenance and oversee works. The role also manages proactive maintenance schedules and requires a driver's licence for fleet repairs and maintenance.
The facilities management and mail and distribution roles involve working on a roster from 8.30am to 5.00pm, occasional contractor supervision over weekends and/or from 6.00am and some physical work such as moving equipment and assessing tenancy issues.
ABOUT YOU
The successful applicant will have:
- Sound communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with experience in managing customer requests and ensuring services are delivered within tight deadlines.
- Experience in one or more of the focus responsibilities for the roles or capabilities that would readily adapt to the roles and a willingness to learn facility management functions and databases.
- Demonstrated initiative to follow up on outstanding actions and resolve problems that will impact on service delivery.
- Commitment to providing dependable support to the team.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check.
• Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, or be an Australian Permanent Resident (essential for ongoing vacancies) or hold a valid working visa (for temporary vacancies).
• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement.
• Driver’s licence and ability to work on a roster including occasional weekend work and ability undertake some physical work is required for the facilities management role.
• Ability to work on a roster and ability undertake some physical work is required for the mail and distribution role.
