Maintenance Trades Assistant – Carpenter

As we prepare for the opening of a newly built expansion to Parklea Correctional Centre, MTC-Broadspectrum is hiring staff to fill custodial positions and a range of other roles at the centre.

 

The Position:

This is an exciting opportunity for a trades handyman to join the team.

If you are a qualified carpenter with experience in welding we would like to hear from you. 

The successful applicant will be responsible for the ongoing preventative and reactive maintenance of a large multi-faceted complex.

You will join a team of other qualified on-site trades working in a fast paced and challenging environment.

The Person:

We are seeking applications from a suitably qualified person who has a high degree of self- motivation and is ready for a role that will extend their ability.

  • Possess excellent coordination and planning skills
  • Excellent communication skills both oral & written
  • A knowledge of all aspects of site works
  • Possess strong safety awareness

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Carpentry or Welding experience highly preferred
  • Current Driver’s License, Trade License and White Card-Working at Height Card also preferred
  • Fantastic attention to detail
  • The ability to work in a team as well as taking direction
  • A positive “Can Do” attitude and a great work ethic
