The Role: Mechanical Leading Hands
Reporting to the Mechanical Process Engineer we have a need for full time Mechanical Leading Hands based at our underground coal mine, located in Narrabri NSW. We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced Leading Hands for three positions, one to support each the Longwall, Development and Outbye teams. In this role your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to the following;
- Ensure maintenance activities are conducted in accordance with OEM specifications, relevant standards and regulatory guidelines,
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks to ensure optimum plant performance,
- Support shift management teams to respond to unplanned breakdowns and significant delays,
- Assist in shutdowns to ensure quality maintenance activities in a safe manner with minimal production impact,
- Ensure all maintenance tasks are safe, organised, timely and cost effective,
- Maintain a high level of workplace health, safety, and environmental awareness and comply with all company policies and procedures,
- Maintain a safe workplace at all times and encourage others to do so by assisting in daily, weekly and monthly audits/inspections,
- Provide mentoring and supervision of other tradesmen assisting in tasks and providing regular feedback on performance and ongoing development,
- Provide support to the Process Mechanical Engineer and Superintendent,
- Act as relief process engineer as required
