NETWORK ENGINEER

We are seeking to appoint a solution minded Network Engineer to join our Information, Management and Technology team based in Williamstown, Victoria. This key role will report to the Lead Network Engineer and will be offered on a permanent and part time basis. Are you up for the challenge?
As a Network Engineer, you will:
• Specify, design and implement aspects of the Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN) environments that meet or exceed industry standard best practices
• Provide network consultancy and assistance to customers, in the design, set to work and troubleshooting of unclassified networks and customer deliverables
• Assist in ensuring that the network solutions and infrastructure meet the current performance, reliability, security and business requirements of the business or customer
• Proactively monitor and maintain all existing network infrastructure, including the monitoring of telecommunication infrastructure to ensure compliance to service level agreements
• Assist in ensuring the day to day stability and operation of the network
As an ideal applicant you will have:
• Extensive experience supporting network broad range of infrastructure
• Demonstrated experience and skills in network troubleshooting, switching, routing, firewalls, VPN and network security
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with business representatives, customers and suppliers
• The ability to work autonomously and in teams, have good initiative and strong analysis and problem solving skills
Whilst not essential, a relevant University degree or a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification will be highly regarded.
As Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearance.
International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
