The Indigenous Land and Sea Corporation (ILSC) is a corporate Commonwealth entity established under the ATSI Act and subject to the PGPA Act. The ILSC assists Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to acquire land and water rights, and to manage land and water so as to provide economic, environmental, social or cultural benefits.
The Divisional Manager will lead the Central Division of the ILSC in delivering the ILSC’s core acquisition and management functions in South Australia, Northern Territory, Victoria and Tasmania.
Specifically, the Divisional Manager will lead the implementation of the ILSC’s Our Country Our Future Program and in doing so lead delivery of the ILSC’s National Indigenous Land and Sea Strategy and Regional Indigenous Land and Sea Strategies across a large and diverse regional footprint.
This is an exciting senior executive role that will play an influential leadership role in the ILSC’s vision that Indigenous Australians enjoy the rightful entitlements, opportunities and benefit that the return of country and its management brings.
Reporting to the Executive Director Programs, the Central Divisional Manger will be expected to:
- Lead and manage the key functions of the Central Divisional Office of the ILSC through effective leadership, planning, organising and the achievement of outcomes in line with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act 2005, NILS and OCOF Program objectives.
- Drive strategic partnerships with Indigenous owners of land and water country, corporate, philanthropic and government partners resulting in social, cultural, economic and environmental outcomes.
- Provide high-level advice and recommendations on the ILSC’s land and sea acquisition and management functions and activities to the ILSC Executive and ILSC Board.
- Lead, evaluate, review and report on Divisional activities, including the delivery of continuous improvement strategies, ensuring that the Division meets agreed KPI’s relating to the acquisition and divestment of land and sea and the delivery of benefits on Indigenous owned country.
- Lead and motivate a divisional team focussed on performance, partnerships and client outcomes.

The ILSC is seeking an organised and enthusiastic self-starter to lead the administrative functions of the Western Divisional office. Working in a rewarding environment you will manage a small team to undertake a range of administrative, financial and reporting activities to support project staff and management employees, and to maintain the efficient and effective operations of the Divisional Office.
Reporting to the Divisional Manager you will:
- Supervise, direct and take responsibility for all administrative functions of the Divisional Office.
- Manage administration staff including communicating job expectations through planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
- Support Divisional employees in the preparation and management of project budgets, benefits and schedules to ensure good financial and project management practices are maintained.
- Maintain and monitor relevant information systems, data and records management.

The Health Administration Officer directly reports to and is accountable to the Executive Manager – Public Health and Continuous Quality Improvement and is responsible for the provision of high quality and efficient administration and secretariat support to the Public Health and CQI Work Unit. This includes providing comprehensive administrative support to the Public Health Medical Officer in relation to the My Health Record Program and other public health matters.

About You
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- Demonstrated experience in office administration and support within a dynamic and busy environment.
- Well-developed administrative skills, including strong attention to detail, accuracy and time management skills.
- Demonstrated competence in minute taking, including an ability to interpret and implement through actions.
- Strong written communication skills to draft correspondence, edit documents and write instructional information.
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders including, external organisations, management and employees at all levels of the organisation.
- Experience in handling public enquiries.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in contributing and working effectively within a small team.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, well organised, and able to effectively plan and coordinate own workload.
- Good keyboard skills and demonstrated competence in the use of business technology and desktop applications including; Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access; database packages; and the internet.
- Demonstrated ability to uphold the principles of cultural sensitivity including an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Ideally, in addition to be above, we are looking for someone who:
- Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is accepted as such by their community;
- Can demonstrate their experience working with Patient Information Recording Systems (PIRS); and
- Can demonstrate their experience with data extraction, aggregation and presentation.
The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of employees, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Please note: In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require an unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence, and be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months) and WA Working With Children Check prior to appointment.

About the Role
The Australian Centre at the University of Melbourne was founded in 1989 with the assistance from a grant from the Hugh Williamson Foundation. Led by Director Professor Sarah Maddison and deputy Director Dr Julia Hurst, the Australian Centre aims to foster a critical examination of Australian society, culture and history, with an interdisciplinary focus on settler colonialism and its institutions. The Centre’s research and education programs are guided by an ethical imperative to consider what must be done to inform, shape and give life to more just relations between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples on this continent we now call Australia.
Reporting to the Director and working closely with the Education Programs Coordinator, the Lecturer in Treaty will develop and deliver aspects of the Professional Certificate in Treaty. They will develop curriculum for this teaching program, which includes four Melbourne MicroCertificates in the Preparing for Treaty Series, plus the subject Indigenous Governance Principles.
The Lecturer in Treaty will also be expected to undertake research related to the aims of the Australian Centre and may assist with grant applications and project tenders, including Australian Research Council grants. The Lecturer will have experience in research, which has resulted in the publication of high-quality outputs or other demonstrated scholarly activities.
The Lecturer may be involved in research training.
The Lecturer in Treaty will demonstrate the capacity to incorporate the key principals of a Place-Based Ethic, Reflexivity, Reciprocity and Justice into their work. They will be familiar with the workplace culture of universities and work well both independently and collaboratively as required. The Lecturer in Treaty will undertake administration primarily relating to their activities within the Australian Centre.

- Demonstrated capacity for multidisciplinary and collaborative research
