About You
As the Coordinator, Risk Management, you will be responsible for coordinating risk management processes in Work Integrated Learning (WIL) across the university. Working closely with teams from RMIT's Colleges, Health, Safety and Wellbeing (HSW) and Internal Audit Compliance and Risk, you will develop systems to enable checks and balances to improve the quality and consistency of risk management in WIL. This includes discipline-based risk assessments, industry partner due diligence, and student suitability and capability. You will support internal and external stakeholders, assisting with the development of business requirements and improved processes. You will consult closely with other key internal stakeholders such as RMIT WIL academic and professional staff, Learning and Teaching experts, the Legal Services Group, and Internal Audit & Risk Management.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

* Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills with a proven ability to deliver high-quality business support resources (including process maps), with a commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.
* Experience in developing effective risk management processes, preferably in the Higher Education sector (although not essential). Experience with compliance and/or health, wellbeing and safety would also be advantageous.
* Proven organisational and project management skills and the ability to develop and analyse business processes and identify gaps and recommend improvements.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills for consulting and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including building and cultivating effective working relationships with staff at all levels of the organisation.
* Ability to exercise initiative and to work proactively and with minimal supervision in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment.

As a Program Coordinator – Aged Care & Disability, you will coordinate teaching resources, provide student support in the relevant VE cluster and organise processes and activities in assisting staff in updating teaching materials and contextualising to specific cohorts as required. Furthermore, you will support the Program Manager in ensuring programs meet regulatory compliance and quality requirements, manage students at risk, and assist with timetables and staff inductions as required.

As directed by the Program Manager, the Coordinator will provide well-being support to students, manage learning plans, and successfully connect with professionals from various VE clusters and service areas and external organisations. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the course's vocational competency is provided, assessed, and maintained.

Your strong communication and interpersonal skills and your experience in teaching, working with students and coordinating administrative processes will ensure your success in this role.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

* Minimum qualifications as per the current Enterprise Agreement and current VET sector regulatory requirements, including vocational competency, vocational currency, and industry currency. This includes a Diploma of Vocational Education or equivalent.

* Mandatory current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

* Educational leadership skills that effectively promote teaching and learning.

* Understanding of the students at risk process, special consideration process and equivalent learning and assessment strategies.

* Evidence of using effective, innovative and flexible teaching methods and teaching experience in the related cluster.

* Skills and expertise in competency-based assessment.

* Qualifications and experience in the aged care, disability and/or community services area and significant current knowledge of the sector.

* Sound knowledge and understanding of the vocational education and training sector and the training requirements of relevant industries related to Quality Assurance processes for TESQA and ASQA in compliance with programs.

How you'll make a difference

As a member of the Anyinginyi Executive Leadership Team and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, this position will see you manage the staff and resources of the Public Health Section, to ensure a high standard of program delivery in a culturally responsive manner.

You will work closely with fellow Executive Managers in providing a holistic model of care for Anyinginyi clients, monitoring ill health and social determents of health to implement public health and health promotion strategies.

Some of your core duties will include (but will not be limited to):

  • Manage and oversee the organisation’s public health services including overseeing high-quality health promotion materials for general health promotion, eye health, nutrition, parenting support, smoking cessation and sexual health programs;
  • Train, mentor and develop staff to produce high-quality, culturally responsive health promotion materials and deliver culturally appropriate public health programs;
  • Communicating Board and senior management decisions to staff and providing the Board and senior management with regular status reports on programs; and
  • Collaborating effectively with funding bodies and other relevant stakeholders in areas associated with Public Health

We are seeking candidates who have extensive Public Health Management experience in the not-for-profit sector and/or Aboriginal community controlled organisations. You will also be in possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in Public Health or similar, with candidates possessing a Masters in Public Health being at a distinct advantage. 

You will have a proven track record of training, mentoring and developing staff with a capacity building approach to management and leadership. Crucial to your success will also be high-level analytical and problem solving skills in addition to preparing high-quality reports for funding bodies. 

Please note: An Ochre Card (NT Working with Children) card and valid Australian Drivers License are mandatory for this role. You must also be fully vaccinated against Covid-19. A current First Aid Certificate would be beneficial however not mandatory as Anyinginyi will provide training each year.

Digital Science Migration Engineer – Artificial Intelligence

The Role

The Digital Science Migration Engineer – Artificial Intelligence is responsible for facilitating the usage of DSTG’s cutting-edge HPC and cloud platforms primarily for Artificial Intelligence applications. Working independently with guidance from senior staff and in small teams, they will: on-board researchers and migrate researcher workflows.

The on-boarding function of this key client facing role involves leveraging sound knowledge of specialised Research domains to demonstrate HPC, cloud, and research SecDevOps environment operations to researchers. This includes highlighting best practice, acceptable use, support boundaries, and recommended supplementary training to uplift security, data management, parallel computing and science reproducibility postures with tangible outcomes for Defence research.

The workflow migration function requires the application of science and technology principles to novel and innovative workflow activities in moderately complex scientific computing environments. This includes developing an understanding of research workflows on existing systems and environments, such as high-end research computers, and creating and executing migration plans that map these unique research workflows to DSSC platforms while maintaining elements such as provenance, data integrity and consistency, research solution consistency (validation) between existing and new systems.

About our Team

Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) is developing its Computational and Data Intensive Sciences (CDIS) capability, supported by a new High Performance Computing (HPC) Centre, to enable DSTG to remain at the forefront of Defence research. DSTG’s HPC will provide world class computational and data systems for innovative advanced research, development, modelling, simulation and experimentation to optimise Defence platform design and operational performance, force development and optimisation, and to solve difficult and complex real-world Defence problems.

Within Digital Science and Scientific Computing (DSSC), the CDIS Directorate conducts research and innovates where Science and Technology (S&T) converges with computing infrastructure to deliver increased research productivity and enabling new science discovery for Defence researchers. This encompasses DSTG's HPC and cloud platforms and multi-disciplinary S&T areas like workflow and data optimisation (including machine learning), data visualisation, computer system benchmarking and code optimisation; and provides expert S&T advice in those areas. With a strong emphasis on security that is critical to Defence, it extends to include research SecDevOps which delivers secure computational environments optimised for research workflows, with ready-to-use common computational S&T tools, trusted code repositories, and container support.

About You
The appointee will work within RMIT's Materials Modelling and Simulation (MMS) group in the School of Engineering, under supervision of the group's leader who is also the ARC Steel Hub Chief Investigator and Program Leader. The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be required to undertake high-quality, cutting-edge theoretical molecular modelling of hybrid organic-inorganic solution based and solid state materials at multiple time and length scales. The models will guide our industry partners and experimental collaborators in developing robust surfaces and multifunctional nanostructured materials. It is anticipated that new, commercially sensitive design strategies for enhanced performance surface coatings of the steel-derived products will be developed.

The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will be responsible for multiscale modelling of complex interfacial phenomena in commercial coatings as well as other materials in order to optimize their performance under various environmental conditions, including temperature, pH and ionic strength. The research will involve development and implementation of computational strategies for prediction of structural and dynamic properties of various types of nanomaterials (metal, oxide, carbon based) and their interfaces with synthetic and bio-polymers in solution and will broadly contribute to collaborative research within the MMS group.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

* Demonstrated research track record in computational modelling of complex systems using classical Molecular Dynamics simulations. Skills in enhanced sampling techniques, free energy calculations and forcefield development would be an advantage. Experience with quantum chemical calculations is desirable.
* Publications in reputable journals in the field of computational chemistry, physics or materials science.
* Demonstrated record of working autonomously as well as in a team environment, including collaboration with experimental partners and/or industry.
* Ability to co-supervise postgraduate by research students.
* Excellent presentation and scientific writing skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, academic staff and industry.
