The Opportunity:
 
The National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA) Legal Services Branch provides the full suite of government legal services to the NIAA. Our services include provision of legal advice on a range of corporate law, commercial law, and public law matters, development of legislation, management of litigation, and procurement of specialist legal advice when necessary.

We are seeking to recruit at least one talented lawyer to join our practice as an APS 6 Lawyer in one of the following teams:

  • The Corporate Law Team advises on a range of NIAA matters, including on information law (we are responsible for coordination of NIAA FOI matters), intellectual property, employment law, Public Interest Disclosure, procurements, MoUs, contracts, and finance law.
  • The Commercial Law Team also advises on a range of NIAA matters, predominantly related to commercial law, statutory interpretation, legislation development and litigation arising in relation to grant and procurement arrangements.
  • The Land and Public Law Team assists with the development and interpretation of legislation, litigation, land and leasing, Indigenous land rights and native title, drafting of legal instruments, appointments, delegations, administrative law and lawful decision making, assistance with developing legal frameworks to implement policy proposals and regulatory and criminal law.
  • Please note: It is expected that a merit list will be established as a part of this recruitment process, which may be used to fill any further APS 6 Lawyer roles that become vacant in Legal Services Branch prior to the expiry of the merit list.

About the Role
The School seeks to appoint a fixed-term Subject Coordinator (Teaching Associate – part-time teaching only) with the capacity to teach in the area of Creative Writing. The successful applicant will be a committed and engaging educator.

About You

About the Role

About the Role
The Assistant Conservator, Objects role operates within Grimwade Conservation Services and reports to the Laboratory Manager, Senior Conservator Objects, Textiles and Archaeology. The role is responsible for both independent and assisted completion of conservation treatments within time and budgetary constraints and provision of conservation expertise to support the team in the delivery of the commercial work program.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • Liaise directly with clients in the development of treatment proposals informed by current conservation research and within ethical standards.
  • Prepare financially viable quotes.
  • Assist in the delivery of group treatments.
  • Work under the direction of Conservators and Principal Conservators on client projects.
  • Contribute to publications, public programs or stakeholder events.

About You
You will have experience in object conservation projects and a knowledge of conservation techniques within the industry, as well as a high level of attention to detail. You will be able to utilise your sound time management skills, allowing you to work independently and see projects through to completion. Your effective and courteous communication skills and passion to deliver high quality customer service will be vital to success in this position. You will be proficient in MS Office, with the ability to learn new software with ease.

You must also be a Professional Member of the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material, or at least a Member currently working toward Professional Membership.Ideally, you will further have:

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in conservation and relevant professional experience in object conservation. Experience in textile conservation will be highly regarded.
  • Knowledge of conservation techniques within the industry
  • Demonstrated experience in the completion of successful object conservation projects

  • Facilitate the development of an integrated divisional marketing communications partnerships and engagement plan to meet cluster strategic objectives and enhance the value of the University Brand in Australia and globally
  • Provide high level strategic marketing communications and partnership management advice to members of the members of the Divisional Executive and University Communications & Marketing leadership team
  • Partner with recruitment and admissions divisional leads to prioritise and deliver recruitment and student engagement strategies in support of cluster strategic objectives

About You
You will have the ability to work and manage ambiguity in your day to day tasks, and you will be able to make strategic decisions in the best interests of the organisation. You will hold strong written and verbal communication skills and you will have a proactive inclination, with the aptitude to take initiative within the team.

Ideally, you will further have:

  • Extensive experience within relevant marketing and communications field and post graduate qualification in marketing, communications, partnership management, business development or a related discipline
  • Direct experience leading and developing teams in higher education sector or related, complex environments
  • Significant experience in the provision of strategic marketing & communications advice and senior executive support in the context of large, complex organisations

About You

As a Casual Sessional within Vocational Education, you will be mainly responsible for the delivery of course material, assessing students and the supervision of students enrolled in selected courses within the School. You will participate in the School's continuing review of course content and development, delivery, teaching methods (including on-line delivery methods) and methods of students' assessment. You will interact with external organisations, industry groups and RMIT teaching and administration staff. Your performance will be underpinned by participation in relevant activities which ensure your vocational competence meets and/or exceeds the education level being delivered and assessed.

Key Selection Criteria

* Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills, relevant to teaching and consultancy environments. This includes effective presentation and facilitation skills, and in the use of flexible teaching methods.

* Demonstrated skills and experience in competency-based assessment.

* Demonstrated experience within the Accountancy industry, and substantial discipline knowledge as it relates to this position.

* Demonstrated capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, propose and implement effective solutions.

* Demonstrated ability to contribute effectively as a constructive and proactive member of a team.

* Demonstrated skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.

To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum:

* Vocational Competencies and demonstratable recent experience within the Accounting Industry.

* Current TAE Cert 4 Qualification or Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
