ABOUT LEGAL AID NSW
Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid agency in Australia, comprising of a Central Sydney office and 25 regional offices in metropolitan and regional centres across NSW and a number of specialist services and advice clinics. ABOUT THE ROLE
The position is responsible for providing para-legal and administrative support to solicitors undertaking High Risk Offender work. This includes undertaking legal research and case preparation as required, preparing legal documentation, maintaining up to date records of matters, communication with clients, stakeholders and Government agencies.

The successful applicant will be able to:
• Manage a diverse and demanding workload while undertaking work in an accurate and competent manner
• Communicate routine technical information clearly and prepare written material that is well-structured and easy to follow by the intended audience
• Deliver legal services to complex need clients from disadvantaged backgrounds including performing work on serious criminal cases
• Complete work tasks to agreed timeframes and standards
• Understand the use of computers, telecommunications, audio-visual equipment or other technologies used by the organisation
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
• Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check
• Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid working visa

1. Outline your experience in managing challenging workloads and competing demands in a legal or similar environment. What techniques did you use to stay highly organised, meet competing priorities and overcome challenges?
2. Give an example from your employment in which you were required to work collaboratively as part of a team. What approach did you take? What was the outcome?
The selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining capability and suitability for the role.
This recruitment will be used to fill two Paralegal roles in the High Risk Offenders Team and may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future vacancies including Case Conferencing, Indictable Appeals Support Clerk and other paralegal roles that may become available in the Criminal Law Division at Clerk Grade 3/4 level over the next 18 months.
