About You

As the Payroll Officer, you will work with team members and RMIT's third party payroll provider to support payroll administration. You will be responsible for processing payroll transactions unable to be processed through self-service or otherwise not undertaken by the third-party payroll provider. This will also involve maintaining payroll compliance and reconciling payroll data to ensure that pay is accurate, and the service is efficient.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

* Demonstrated working knowledge and experience in the timely and accurate production and reconciliation of a large complex payroll.
* Demonstrated experience providing timely and accurate processing of payroll and People master data for a large complex payroll.
* Demonstrated working experience and knowledge of HR administration, complex payroll operations with exposure to a diverse range of Enterprise Agreements, Superannuation, PAYG, Workcover, Salary Packaging, payment calculations, termination and redundancy processes.
* Demonstrated personal initiative in the identification and implementation of better work practices.
* Proven ability to work both independently and positively to complete assigned tasks and meet deadlines with a strong commitment and demonstrated ability to provide customer service excellence
* Advanced competency in MS Office suite skills and experience working with a HR information system would be advantageous, in particular with Workday.

By providing tailored, quality human resources services and products and ensuring a high level of expert support and advice, the People function enhances the ability of Colleges, Portfolios and Groups to meet their business objectives. This, in turn, enables University staff to better support the current and future student population at the University. Within the People function is the Global Payroll team which will work with RMIT's third party payroll provider to manage all payroll administration. The team shares insights with p
