The Riverina Medical and Dental Aboriginal Corporation (RivMed) is a not-for-profit leader in the provision of primary health care and community welfare services.
RivMed aims to provide services which reflect the growing need of Aboriginal people to have access to primary health care and community welfare services.
These include preventative health care programs and the core programs also reflect the need to continue to address the inequality in health outcomes that persist. Those core programs include medical services, and family health, drug and alcohol counselling and advocacy support.
About the Opportunity
RivMed now has an exciting opportunity for a Provisional Psychologist Intern within their Child Welfare services team based in Wagga Wagga, NSW on a full-time basis. Please note: Aboriginality is a genuine qualification for this position and is authorized under section 42 of the Discrimination Act 1991 and S8 of the Racial Discrimination Act 1975 (Cth).
As an Intern with RivMed you will report to the Team Leader – Therapeutic Services and will be primarily responsible for the sustainable delivery of Family Functional Therapy – child welfare services within a team environment of skilled caseworkers and clinical therapeutic staff. Your duties will include the delivery of psychological services and case management and adapting service delivery to meet the needs of diverse families. You will also be required to undertake data collection and reporting in order to undertake evidence-based decision making.
To be successful in this position you will need to have tertiary qualifications (including Honours) in Psychology and obtained provisional registration as a Psychologist from AHPRA. Previous experience delivering therapeutic interventions or working with vulnerable families will be highly regarded, but is not mandatory.
