About You
The Postdoctoral Research Assistant will undertake research on the Sustainability Victoria funded project on "Re-qualifying cardboard waste to develop light-weight precast concrete structures"It is expected that the Research Assistant will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop. Applicants with a PhD in Civil Engineering or a related background, and experience in experimental and/or analytical work are invited to apply. Capabilities in structural analysis, mathematical modelling, experimental analysis, concrete materials and report writing are essential.
To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum:
* Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field.
* Demonstrated experience and in-depth expertise with concrete construction materials in particular concrete material and structural testing, advanced knowledge of concrete mix design with recycled material content and capability in structural analysis, mathematical modelling and experimental analysis
* Ability to generate alternative funding projects through effective liaison with industry and government.
* Ability to work autonomously whilst displaying a strong commitment to work in a team environment, including the demonstrated ability to confidently and effectively work with colleagues, project team leaders, and industry partners.
* Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively manage varying workloads and respond to changing priorities as required.
* Excellent interpersonal and communications skills appropriate for interacting with higher degree by research candidates, staff and industry
