All positions can be part-time minimum 0.8 EFT to 1.0 full-time EFT as suited to the applicant. Superannuation is 10% or 17% subject to position type.
About the role(s):
The Indigenous Health Equity Unit at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health is seeking to appoint four Research Assistant/Fellows. The successful applicant/s will be expected to contribute to supporting, developing and managing a program of research and work as part of an Aboriginal-led interdisciplinary research team of Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers. The successful applicant/s will benefit from working with a large network of investigators, partners and stakeholders.
The positions represent an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team and support research relevant to the urgent public health issues of intergenerational trauma and improving health equity. You will have experience in supporting academic researchers, have experience working in the field of supporting families or social and emotional wellbeing (in practice, policy or both), and have highly developed communication skills (written and oral). The positions will be provided with a supportive culture where applicants can further develop these skills.
As well as contributing to the overall work of the team and emerging opportunities, each role will have a specific portfolio focus tailored to the interests and skills of the successful applicant/s, including:
- Oversight and conduct of quantitative data collection, data analysis, including psychometric evaluation, preparing manuscripts for publication and assisting with preparing grant applications.
- Oversight and development of program materials (qualitative and quantitative data collection, ethics submissions, partnerships, educational and implementation materials).
- Coordinate parent and service provider discussion groups, analysis and writing up project outcomes.
- Conducting high quality Cochrane systematic reviews.
