About You

As a Senior Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst for the College of Vocational Education (VE), you will apply your financial, accounting, and strategic knowledge and skills to financial planning, business performance analysis & reporting, and the creation of reports, presentations and documents for finance business partners and stakeholders for decision-making. Furthermore, you will compare budgets and rolling forecasts to actual performance and assist in the transformation of the overarching organisational strategy into long-term plans on which budgets and other essential function deliverables are established.

To thrive in this role, you will have robust and well-developed business relationships and customer services skills to liaise and work closely with a range of partners and stakeholders across functional areas. In addition, you will work autonomously and also collaborate with the team providing new ideas and being confident and reliable.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

* A relevant tertiary qualification and (CA/CPA) and/or significant experience in a financial management, planning and analysis role with reporting experience in a large, complex organisation, preferably in the VE & Higher education sector.
* Experience in management accounting with a high degree of fluency with local and global financial and accounting standards within complex organisational matrices and/or global/group environments.
* Proven track record solving complex/strategic issues using a variety of innovative approaches to drive culture, sound decision making, change, high performance/results, risk management, customer and stakeholder experience.
* Professional skill in financial report preparation and analysing/summarising complex data in a robust and controlled manner with an ability to present to senior executive leadership in a clear and concise manner.
* Track record of commitment to and successful delivery of high-quality outputs within strict deadlines (organisational and time management skills).
* Solid business acumen, detail-oriented, highly analytical, creative problem solver with an excellent ability to influence
* Advanced ability to manage and prioritise workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, growing and ambiguous environment
* Proven ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with the University and with external agencies to maximise performance
* Understanding of local and global market/context within which the University operates.
