Allwater are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Site Engineer to join the Bolivar operations team responsible for the northern wastewater treatment plants. This role represents a rare opportunity to be at the frontline of Allwater’s commitment to the first class management of wastewater treatment thereby ensuring both public health and customer satisfaction is maintained at a level second to none.
Reporting to the Northern Wastewater Treatment Plants Manager, you will be primarily responsible for providing technical, process and general engineering support to the wastewater plant operations team.
Other responsibilities within the role will include but will not be limited to:
- Monitoring and optimising plant performance with the goal of improving process performance, improving process capacity and reducing operating costs while strategically achieving compliance with SPIs.
- Providing technical expertise and a pro-active hands on approach as you guide the operations team in solving operational issues and optimising plant performance through the development and implementation of improvement plans.
- Providing wastewater treatment process engineering and technical support to the Northern plants management and operations team
- Participating in knowledge transfer sessions and provide technical training where required.
- With a second level on call component incorporated in the role, the Site Engineer will play an important role in effective incident management in a compliant, safe and environmentally sound manner
Required skills and experience:
- Exemplary interpersonal skills and the ability to foster positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Technical aptitude and acumen gained from tertiary qualifications in a related discipline and experience in the operation, design or commissioning of wastewater treatment plants.
