Your Role
The Culture & People Development Branch has a number of roles that will be focused on either Indigenous strategic policy development, stakeholder engagement, communication and project delivery. This will include promoting cultural awareness and marketing of key Indigenous activities and events across the Department.
These roles are newly established positions within the Branch. We operate through co-design practices, where stakeholder engagement is the core of our business processes. Innovation and the ability to drive engagements with a range of internal and external stakeholders and organisations will be required to enable strategic policy development and implementation across the enterprise. The Branch is seeking team players who have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, are capable, flexible, resilient, and results oriented with a passion for driving cultural change.
About our Team
The role of the Defence People Group is fundamentally about supporting Defence Capability. We deliver the people capability required to operate and support Defence equipment and systems, and to manage the business of Defence.
The Defence People Group delivers high quality human resource outcomes across the Defence employment cycle from strategy and policy development, through to implementation and service delivery. We enable Defence capability and support the Defence Mission through a collectively held people vision.
In order to deliver capability through people, Defence People Group is focused on:
- Recruiting and retaining the workforce we need to deliver Defence capability;
- Continuing to drive reform initiatives through Pathway to Change 2017-2022, as well as facilitating, monitoring and reporting on the implementation of People reform across Defence;
- Delivery of contemporary employment frameworks, workforce capability development, and the professionalisation of the Defence workforce; and
- Delivering quality services for the ADF who are transitioning to civilian life, and support for families of ADF members. We put people first and deliver on our commitments, we are HR professionals.

- Have a knowledge base and commitment to the development of best practice initiatives in the culture, diversity and inclusion space
- Demonstrated ability to use strong organisational skills and initiative in a complex, dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Communicate effectively and work collaboratively with other team members, our customers and stakeholders to forge sustainable relationships
- Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in organisation practices and processes
