Nossal Institute is seeking an applicant who identifies as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander to join us as a Technical Advisor.

This is an entry level position for applicants with an interest in pursuing either an applied or a research career in global health.

The Technical Advisor will work as part of the Health Systems, Governance and Health Financing (HSGF) unit and assist in project implementation, data gathering and analysis, report writing, proposal preparation for new project or research activities, and general administrative duties related to various activities conducted by the unit.

We are particularly interested applicants with an interest in one of the following areas:

  • Economics
  • Epidemiology
  • Gender
  • Political science

The position will work with colleagues as part of the HSGF unit, as well as technical staff across the organisation and will have the opportunity to be mentored in their areas of interest.

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications or demonstrated relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education and training. Interest in both quantitative and qualitative research approaches, and excellent written and oral communication skills.

This is a full-time position for an initial 12-month fixed term contract, with a possible extension for an additional 12 months.
