About the Organisation
The Riverina Medical and Dental Aboriginal Corporation (RivMed) is a not-for-profit leader in the provision of primary health care and community welfare services.
RivMed aims to provide services which reflect the growing need of Aboriginal people to have access to primary health care and community welfare services.
These include preventative health care programs and the core programs also reflect the need to continue to address the inequality in health outcomes that persist. Those core programs include medical services, and family health, drug and alcohol counselling and advocacy support.
Services in support of Aboriginal families include those provided by the Family Health Team, Intensive Family Based Services, Out of Home Care and the Family Functional Therapy-Child Welfare and Social & Emotional Wellbeing teams.
As part of the NSW Government's New Family Preservation Models initiative, RivMed has been selected to provide Family Functional Therapy – Child Welfare services in Wagga Wagga and surrounds.
About the Opportunity
* RivMed has multiple opportunities for Therapeutic Caseworkers (Aboriginal Identified) to work as part of the Child Welfare services team based in Wagga Wagga, NSW on a full-time basis.
* Reporting to the Team Leader – Therapeutic Services, this rewarding role requires you to deliver Family Functional Therapy – Child Welfare within a team environment of skilled caseworkers and clinical therapeutic staff.
* RivMed is seeking experienced individuals who have strong knowledge of early intervention, child protection, and out of home care. The successful candidates will also have a good understanding of child protection law.
* To succeed in this position, you will have a Diploma of Community Services, Mental Health, Social Welfare, Social Science, or equivalent. You will also have previous experience in case management andworking within the community services sector and/or Aboriginal health.
* Candidates with an understanding of inter-generational trauma and those who have the ability to develop links within the community will be highly regarded.
* The successful candidates will have a current driver's license and the ability to travel within regional areas and interstate.
