BR&I are a Mechanical Services entity who work in the Hydrocarbon and Heavy Industrial Sector. Currently BR&I are looking to fill a number of positions to support the delivery of Defence Fuel Installation Maintenance within the Estate Management of Services (EMOS) contract to the Department of Defence.
BR&I are currently recruiting for a Trades Assistant to provide technical assistance to the DFI Trade Staff within Defence Fuel Installation Maintenance, in the Darwin Region, to ensure the safe operation, integrity and performance of equipment and facilities within the Comprehensive Maintenance Services Contract.
Further you will:
- Undertake maintenance and repair work on Defence Fuel Installations
- Assist all trade disciplines with maintenance and installation activities
- Carry out maintenance repairs and other tasks as directed by DFI Supervisor
- Cost small works back to the DFI Supervisor
- Maintain and keep tools, equipment (including safety equipment), plant items, motor vehicles, crane trucks, and hired plant items safe to operate
- Ensure that technical procedures and inspection and test plans are performed in accordance with Quality Assurance requirements
- Supervise and Escort subcontractors as required
- Assist the DFI Supervisor with job timing, work scheduling, work instructions and job plans in conjunction with technical services.
- Make recommendations to the DFI Supervisor in relation to best work practices
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in Fuel Installations operations and maintenance
- Basic understanding of AS2885.3, AS60079 and AS1940
- Either possess or willing to undertake training in First Aid, Confined space entry, working at heights and Permit to work including Gas Testing of atmospheres.
- Basic knowledge of removal of Hazardous Material
- Understanding of MS Word and MS Excel as well as Computerised Maintenance Management System SAP and HVS
- Ability to learn and use proprietary software necessary to support the position
- Current Drivers Licence and plant operation tickets are advantageous to the role
- Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining a high level of workmanship
You must be eligible to hold an Unrestricted LV licence, relevant plant operating licences according to trade requirements as well as be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance to the level of Secret. As a result of this requirement the incumbent must be an Australian Citizen.
