Trainee Aboriginal Environmental Health Officer

The position is identified for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people pursuant to Section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)
The Regulatory Services Division of Tamworth Regional Council is seeking an enthusiastic individual with a genuine interest in in Environmental Health as a career and a willingness to undertake a Bachelor of Natural Science (Environment and Health) over a period of six years.

This is an incredible opportunity to obtain qualifications and on-the-job experience in the challenging field of environmental health through a shared funding arrangement between NSW Health and Tamworth Regional Council. The successful candidate will graduate with a Bachelor of Natural Science (Environment and Health) from the University of Western Sydney whilst being paid to work and acquire experience and practical skills as a Trainee Environmental Health Officer.

Applicants should hold a current NSW Driver Licence (P1 or P2 is acceptable) and be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander decent by parentage, identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted in the community as such.

This position is for a period of six years and has been classified in the training band with the commencement salary to be determined by the age and/or qualifications of the successful applicant.
