The Role: Underground Mining Electrical/Mechanical Tradespersons, Narrabri NSW 

Underground Mining Electrical/Mechanical Trades positions are now available at our Narrabri Coal Operations mine site in NSW. Outstanding opportunities, for highly motivated tradespersons without coal mining experience to work for a leading Australian Coal Mining company.

The successful candidates will be employed by the major mining contractor on site, and as these are entry level mining positions previous underground mining experience is not required. Successful candidates will be trained to equivalent certification level 2 in underground coal mining, with trade’s qualifications cross over managed as part of the program.

Key duties include:

  • Inspection of the work area and plant for hazards, damage and defects;
  • Maintaining the designated mine Standards;
  • Completing of all necessary statutory equipment inspections in your panel;
  • Diagnosis and rectification of faults and breakdowns as directed;
  • Maintenance duties as required
  • Assisting the panel crew members including the operation of mine equipment where necessary;
  • Other duties within the scope of training, skill and competence as required by the Deputy, the Development or Longwall Engineer and Manager Mechanical Engineering.
