About the role
We have two opportunities available for talented ICT Teachers to join our Future Technologies Cluster here at RMIT. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are experiencing significant growth in our Diploma of Information Technology and increased demand in two new programs across Cyber Security and Systems and Networks.

As our Teacher – ICT, you will be responsible for planning vocational education and training programs delivered to our students, whilst teaching students course content in preparation for their examinations.

Some of your accountabilities will include:
– Preparing and delivering teaching programs
– Assessing the learning of students in a range of contemporary Vocational Education and Training (VET) settings
– Identifying 'students at risk' and assisting in identifying appropriate strategies to improve student learning
– Providing accurate pre-course advice to students as well as assisting with student selection and student induction
– Promoting the Schools' programs and services to relevant clients and establishing and maintaining effective industry contacts
– Responsibility for record keeping and ensuring that learning and teaching documentation such as learning materials and assessment tools are appropriately recorded and accessible

About you
With an ICT background ideally in the areas of networking, cyber security, cloud, and coding (Python), you will be able to demonstrate your ability to teach and engage students from a range of backgrounds. You will pride yourself on your effective communication and facilitation techniques whilst also adopting a continuous improvement approach to your work.

We are also looking for the following:
– A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
– Knowledge and experience in competency based assessment
– Demonstrated capacity to diagnose learning problems in students, proposing and implementing effective solutions
– Demonstrated experience within the ICT industry

The successful applicant will be appointed between a Teacher 2.2 – 5 classification depending on experience and qualifications.
