About You
As Vendor Manager, Corporate Services (Procurement), you will be involved in the continued development and implementation of the RMIT Vendor Management Framework to track and monitor the performance and contractual obligations for Corporate Services and Academic & Student Support Services vendors at RMIT University.
You will be responsible for managing the relationships with these vendors and ensuring adherence to all strategic, tactical, operational and performance objectives, including adherence to financial commitments and operational expenditure that is associated with the delivery. You will also identify and implement opportunities for vendor relationship improvements, value-adds, innovations and student-industry engagements.
To be successful in this position, you'll have:
* Experience in managing multiple complex contracts utilising standardised policy and procedure whilst still delivering commercial outcomes, ideally within a travel and/or Human Resources discipline.
* Strong leadership skills in a cross-functional team environment within a matrix environment.
* Demonstrated expertise in strategic vendor and stakeholder management.
* Proven ability in vendor and performance management framework development & implementation using analytics and leading practice tools.
* Track record of developing and delivering on substantial and sustainable commercial benefits.
* Strong commercial awareness skills and an ability to apply this to the Education sector, acknowledging difference and similarities.
* Demonstrated ability to manage and lead suppliers at senior management level to deliver high performing supply chains.
About the Procurement Group
Procurement Group is a small but focussed group reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President Resources. The role of Procurement is to review sourcing and procurement options across the university. Key issues addressed are:
* Identifying cost improvement initiatives across the university spend.
* Rationalising vendor base.
* Negotiating and establishing major RMIT group contracts based on combined purchasing power.
* Enabling the procurement process and policies through both systems and controls.
* Using and leveraging group contracts to provide savings.
* Managing strategic vendor relationships and panel agreements.
