The Role

Due to recent award of a long-term maintenance contract with BHP, Broadspectrum is seeking an experienced HSE Lead to join our team. The primary purpose of the role is to partner with the team, providing leadership and support for compliance and operational excellence in health, safety and environmental matters. The timely provision of the appropriate Broadspectrum tools, processes, expertise and insights will be key success factors, as will your ability to be a team player.

This full-time ongoing role will see you located on site at Olympic Dam working a FIFO roster (13/8)

Requirements

  • As a result, we seek to employ people who will succeed in this role and who will likely have:
  • Hold Tertiary HSE qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of aScience (HSE) or Post Graduate studies with a related bachelor’s degree).
  • Experience providing advice and assistance to support Project/Contract Managers and our frontline teams to ensure the effective implementation of the Operating Excellence HSE systems.
  • High level of experience in the development and implementation of HSE Management & Improvement Plans
  • Ability to develop Risk Assessments (JSA/SWMS) and verify critical control effectiveness.
  • Prior exposure to risk-based incident investigations (Ideally ICAM)
  • Experience on-boarding and managing sub-contractors from a HSE perspective. 
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills.
  • Previous experience working on a mine site / heavy industrial environment
  • Strong analytical skills.
