Wilson Security has developed the Launch into Work – Making Tracks Program, in partnership with the Department of Education, Skills and Employment and NSW Aboriginal Land Council Employment and Training. Making Tracks is funded by the Australian Government’s Launch into Work program and offers career pathways for Indigenous people (predominately female candidates) to gain the skills and experience necessary to build a sustainable and rewarding career in the Security Industry.
To be eligible to apply for the Making Tracks program with Wilson Security you will need to be:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent (female candidates preferred)
- 18 years or over
- registered with an employment services provider – either jobactive, Transition to Work or Parents Next
- able to pass a criminal history, police and fingerprint check – a clean record is required to obtain a Security Licence
- able to pass a medical check including fitness checks – you must be able to stand, sit and walk for long shifts
- able to pass a drug and alcohol test
- able to obtain a Working with Children check
- punctual and responsible

- the ability to work on your own with minimal supervision
As part of this program, we will provide people with:
- comprehensive pre-employment training and real-world work experience with current Wilson Security staff
- fully funded Certificate II in Security Operations (3-week course)
- fully funded Security Licence application process and first year of Security Licence
- permanent employment, either full-time or part-time, upon successful completion of the program and obtaining your Security Licence
