ABOUT THE ROLE

Provide legal advice and representation to clients of Legal Aid NSW, including minor assistance and casework service, in accordance with legal Aid NSW policies and guidelines in order to contribute to the implementation of Legal Aid NSW’s mission to deliver high quality legal services to our clients and to assist them to resolve their problems.

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will have knowledge of and interest in criminal law, and in working with clients from a disadvantaged background.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 • Admission or eligibility for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW

 • Ability to provide a valid Practising Certificate upon commencement 

 • Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check

 • Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Resident or hold a valid working visa 

• Hold a current Driver’s License

  1. Outline your knowledge of criminal law and any relevant experience, or the capacity to apply knowledge of any specific area of criminal law as required

 

  1. Outline the skills and experience which enable you to engage with the diverse range of people to whom Legal Aid NSW provide services.

 

  1. Why are you interested in appearing for clients in the Eastern NSW (South) – Nowra, Wollongong regions?

The selection process will include a range of comparative assessment techniques to assist in determining capability and suitability for the role.

This recruitment will be used to fill any current vacancies and may be used to create a Talent Pool for similar future Ongoing and Temporary vacancies that may arise over the next 18 months in Eastern NSW (South) regions – Nowra and Wollongong.
