About You
The role of the Learning Design Officer will support high quality digital learning for course and programs, specifically RMIT's online learning environments. They will work closely with key stakeholders in the Colleges, Schools and RMIT Studios to support the transformation and enhancement of courses and programs, including the embedding of micro-credentials. The incumbent is expected to respond to School, College and University strategic priorities and support the implementation of digital learning that is consistent with university principles.
 
To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum: 
* Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices (experience in Canvas desirable)
* Demonstrated project coordination skill and experience.
* Demonstrated excellent communication skills and proven ability to secure the cooperation and engagement of a wide range of people within a complex environment.
* Well-developed organisational, planning and analytical skills
* Demonstrated ability to encourage and facilitate systems and work practices that are collaborative, support a team environment and adhere to procedures, standards and guidelines.
* Relevant experience in Higher Education desirable but not essential.

Future-focused, discipline specific, program and course design and development (redesign and new courses); digital and blended learning; learning design:
* Using student-centred principles and practices to create engaging, relevant and informative learning journeys. UX approach. 
* UX, SX and digital development in courses and programs
* Purposeful use of educational technology
* Program and course design and development including English Language support
* Curriculum, assessment and pedagogy consultation and evaluation
* Design and embed of micro-credentials in curriculum
* Lead blended learning implementation in the College
