About the Role:
FEIT has 2 Department Administrator positions available, one based within the Department of Mechanical Engineering and one based with the Department of Chemical Engineering. These roles are pivotal in the distribution and flow of information between academics, professional employees, visitors and RHD students to ensure the local work area and the school more broadly is run effectively and efficiently.
These positions are an exciting opportunity to make a significant contribution to the effective and professional operation of the Department and School. You will manage competing demands, prioritise tasks effectively, be self-directed in managing work assignments and be adept in dealing professionally with a range of stakeholders, offering them a high level of client service.
These are dynamic and diverse roles with a broad range of responsibilities including addressing and triaging enquiries, diary management, welcoming new employees, travel and visitor bookings, events, finance and much more.
About You:
Naturally you will be capable of demonstrating your prior record of achievement in the following:
- Proven experience in a similar administrative role, applicants with experience and further relevant training/education will be highly regarded
- Proven ability to develop strong relationships with stakeholders and develop innovative solutions to produce high-quality, timely outcomes
- Strong organisational, attention to detail and project management skills to ensure the effective prioritisation, management and completion of tasks combined with advanced computer literacy, particularly with MS Office applications
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication and a customer-centric mindset, with the ability to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders and clients to achieve successful outcomes
Additionally, it would be desirable (but not necessary) if you if you also had experience in relation to any of the following:
- Experience working in complex organisations
- Understanding of the tertiary education environment
