About You
Working as part of the University Lifecycle team, you will be actively involved in enhancing the RMIT Learning Management Systems (and wider learning ecosystem), research and library platforms that support the core educational and student services of the University. You will work with diverse stakeholders leveraging Agile practices to define detailed requirements and acceptance criteria (Features and Stories), working with developers and testers, and helping deliver the enhancements.
You will work both independently and in teams comprised of functional and technical staff, as well as contracted external consultants on a variety of tasks and initiatives, such as projects, minor works and support. As a senior member of this team, you will include some task-based staff supervision and the ability to independently lead initiatives.
Additionally, you will be required to report regularly on assigned tasks and sub-projects, to effectively engage and communicate with staff at all levels across the University.
To be successful in this position, you'll have:
* Extensive experience as a Functional Analyst/Business Analyst within IT projects.
* Ability to lead a significantly complex piece of analysis work.
* Elicitation experience required including senior stakeholder engagement.
* Attention to detail, yet able to step back and see the big picture when the situation requires.
* Strong technical acumen with some experience in operations and service management.
* Ability to manage and collaborate with business and technology stakeholders in the development of operational processes and technical requirements.
* Highly motivated with a positive and proactive approach, and a demonstrated ability to take accountability for delivering quality outcomes.
* Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
* Flexible, ability to adapt to change quickly, able to work with ambiguity and prioritise.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in soliciting and documentation of detailed business requirements.
* Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
* Sound knowledge of project management methodologies; Agile delivery experience is highly advantageous.
* Exposure to Education sector is highly advantageous but not essential.
* Understanding of Learning Management Systems from a functional and technology standpoint is desirable.
* Understanding of SQL and APIs is desirable.
