About the Role

This is an exciting and challenging role in a national program that focuses on making a difference for older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people living with dementia, their families, carers, and communities.  The Coordinator is a key member of the OnTRACK Centre for Research Excellence team and will take an active role in facilitating and supporting complex networks, and important stakeholder relationships. 

With the support of the lead Chief Investigator, you will have responsibility for resource and operational management across the program, including project management, communications, financial and human resources oversight and to ensure effective leadership and completion of the program.

Our CRE team includes Community members, health, and community organisations and 10 Chief Investigators and 9 Associate Investigators from leading universities and research centres across Australia.  Join us if:

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • support the OnTRACK CRE Investigator team to establish, develop and/or build the partnerships and relationships needed to deliver the OnTRACK CRE research program.  
  • liaise with, and support community members, community, and partner organisations to engage and participate in the OnTRACK CRE network and research program
  • manage OnTRACK CRE operations.  With the support of CIA, co-ordinate with the community, investigators and multi-site partners to ensure agreed milestones and outcomes are achieved within budget and set timelines, and according to culturally responsive and ethically appropriate protocols.
  • initiate, organise and support Investigator meetings, governance committees, oversee ethics protocols and other governance related activities.

About You

Your attention to detail is second to none and you will be adept at organising your own workload with competing priorities, able to meet deadlines while maintaining a high quality of work. Your outstanding communication skills allow you to work collaboratively and flexibly within a team environment with changing demands, and to make strong community connections.

Ideally, you will further have:

  • tertiary qualification relevant to the role (Postgraduate qualifications are preferred) and/or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience in a large and complex organisation or project/program.
  • project management experience, ideally in a complex research and/or community setting. 
  • ability to demonstrate culturally safe practice
  • experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities will be highly regarded.
