The Girls at the Centre Program is a multi-faceted program that focuses on supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls to complete their educational outcomes through a variety of support programs and activities. The role of the Girls at the Centre Manager will involve the planning and implementation of the Girls at the Centre Program in collaboration with the school.
The program is being delivered through Mount Austin High School in Wagga Wagga, a comprehensive public high school with 500 students including 220 Aboriginal students. The school has a strong cultural program in partnership with an intense focus on teaching and learning; and also prioritises technology, student welfare, and community partnerships.
It takes a special kind of person to Girls at the Centre Manager. You need to be highly committed and motivated; and able to build strong relationships with schools and external stakeholders, students and their families. You will also need to have experience in providing support and assistance to people living in disadvantaged communities.
