About the Role
The Lecturer in Media and Communications (Marketing and Communications) will coordinate and teach in the graduate and undergraduate programs of Media and Communications, with an emphasis on the Master of Marketing Communications. An ability to teach subjects related to marketing and strategic communications is essential. Other responsibilities include supervising honours, minor theses and PhD students. The Lecturer will be expected to have a strong track record of research and publications and the ability to contribute to the development of existing and future research projects, including participation as an investigator on ARC and/or externally funded research projects. The specific area of research focus is open, but an ability to complement and diversify existing research strengths in the Media and Communications Program is an advantage.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • Coordinate and deliver subjects, including overseas subjects and other student mobility programs
  • Produce research outputs including peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, books, creative works and commissioned reports
  • Supervise graduate research

About You
You are an academic with experience in course coordination, as well as, experience in the supervision of honours and postgraduate degree by coursework theses. Your strong record in research and developing publication profile, and experience attracting research grants will see you succeed in this position.

Ideally, you will further have:

  • A completed PhD in a relevant discipline
  • Demonstrated specialisation in media and communications, with particular expertise in marketing communications
  • Demonstrated ability for excellence in teaching both media and marketing communications subjects including the capacity to initiate course development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels

About You

The Senior Coordinator, Subscriptions leads the team responsible for the acquisition, metadata management, creation and maintenance of access and processing of subscription library resources that support teaching, learning and research at RMIT University. This material includes e-journals (individual and sets), subscription databases and print journals. The position incorporates the role of Content Coordinator for CAUL (Council of Australian University Librarians).

Collaboration with other Teams within the Collections Unit and across the Library is essential for this role to ensure the Library's strategic goals are met. The position includes significant vendor liaison and negotiation. Experience with Alma (ExLibris software) is highly desired. There is a strong focus on experience in building an effective, skilled, collaborative team.

Any member of the Library staff may be required to assist in other areas of Library operations for limited periods, should circumstances warrant. The role may also be required to work across the Library on projects and programs of work.

To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum:

* Demonstrated ability to lead a team, inspire staff development, drive performance and successfully lead a team through change

* Demonstrated commercial acumen and experience in maintaining effective vendor relationships and sound negotiation skills

* Experience in a library acquisitions and metadata environment, good understanding of current and emerging practices in this area, particularly in the management and acquisition of electronic datasets and individual titles

* Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and through positive influence

* Proven record of innovation, commitment to continual improvement and strong problem-solving skills

* Demonstrated focus on customer service resulting in the delivery of excellent customer outcomes

* Experience with a large Library Service Platform along with project management experience.

Senior Advisor, Child Safe

About You

Reporting to the Manager, Safer Community, you will have responsibility for the ongoing policy and procedure development work relating to Child Safety, and in embedding this into practice across the University through the establishment of a Child Safe Working Group.

You will hold carriage of the delivery of RMIT's engagement with Child Safe Standards and the Reportable Conduct Scheme. You will develop on-going communication and awareness, training, reporting and support requirements for RMIT University to meet its obligations under Child Safe Standards. You will also support RMIT's overall commitment to Child Safety as a multi-sector education provider and as a provider registered to deliver education to younger overseas students.

In addition, you will have a dual role with both strategic and operational requirements, providing a secondary consult University-wide in relation to Under 18 matters as well as a student facing service as a key contact point for Domestic Under 18 students, delivering a child focussed response to under 18's who may be experiencing barriers or challenges to their studies or in their personal circumstances.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

* Significant understanding of the challenges and vulnerabilities faced by different cohorts of U18 prospective and current students and the ability to incorporate this, framed by the legislative requirements into a program of work to ensure RMIT meets its Child Safe Standards obligations.
* Ability to identify and minimise potential risks in the arrangements of care and welfare for younger students, including matters that can affect personal safety, wellbeing and academic progress.
* Demonstrated capacity to plan a program of engagement; draft education and awareness materials and review professional training and instructional documentation.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills alongside excellent organisational skills, including the ability to set priorities, manage time and meet deadlines and reporting requirements.
* Ability to exercise high levels of independence, judgement and initiative with capacity to make immediate decisions under pressure, as well as in a team environment and across business areas.
* Highly-developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact and build constructive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and negotiate positive outcomes to complex issues in a large organisation with diplomacy, discretion and tact.
* Demonstrated insight into the sensitive subject matter relating to student wellbeing and inclusion, including issues such as child abuse, sexual harm, gender equity, mental health issues and disability.
* A Bachelor degree in a relevant area (for example Social Work), with substantial post-qualifying work experience.
* A student support background is also desirable.

About You

To be successful in the role, you will:

* Lead the advancement of teaching in the discipline including initiating program improvements and leading assessment design, conduct and moderation

About the Role

The primary focus of your role will be providing support the Defence Materials Technology Centre (DMTC) on Industry Capability Development (ICD) activities particularly through working with small to medium enterprises to take up Industry 4.0 technologies to improve their business.

Your key accountabilities in the role will include:

* Support the ICD team to deliver the ICD projects outcomes, including but not limited to, technical consulting activities, developing software, and configuring hardware to support the program participants as well as helping to create resources for the use of the ICD project

* Develop and monitor online "Factory in a Box" (FIAB) resources on Confluence including creating demonstration videos and carrying out project implementation tasks

* Present on Industry 4.0 theory and the "Smart Enough Factory" (SEF) concept at SEF workshops.

* Provide guidance on appropriate hardware and software for SEF participants' FIAB implementation

* Provide support for the development of FIAB dashboards and provide technical support to SEF participants

* Provide input into Project cyber security analysis and implementation relevant to the use of FIAB

* Provide supervision to postgraduate research projects related to digital twin development

* Provide supervision to research activities related to sensors and networking

* Support Business Development activities (attending meetings, presenting on FIAB development etc) and attend weekly project team meetings

* Undertake teaching duties up to 20% of fulltime load, including course co-ordination, delivery and supporting practicals

* Provide research guidance to postgraduate students and other research fellows associated with this area of research and building associated infrastructure

* Undertake a range of administrative functions associated with the research project he/she is undertaking

About You

To be successful for the role, you will have:

* Demonstrated ability to carry out high quality basic and applied research in the area of industrial automation particularly the practical application of industry 4.0 technologies.

* A high level of knowledge of industry 4.0 technologies including the internet of things, cyber-physical systems, and sensor technology.
