The Organisation
The National Centre for Action on Child Sexual Abuse is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established to increase understanding of child sexual abuse, promote effective ways for protecting children, guide best practice responses and pathways to healing for survivors, and reduce the harm it causes.
The National Centre is a joint venture between Blue Knot Foundation, The Healing Foundation and the Australian Childhood Foundation with initial funding from the Australian Government. The three organisations have united to form an Australian-first partnership that will commission critical research, evaluate interventions and therapeutic programs, raise community awareness, reduce stigma and provide training.
The National Centre will give voice to the experiences of survivors of all ages, life stages and communities . It will work in collaboration with survivors, major research institutions, representatives from state and commonwealth governments, service providers, schools, and law enforcement agencies.
The Role
As a key member of the leadership team you will lead the finance, business operations and corporate responsibilities of the centre.
Managing the key corporate functions you will position the Centre to deliver on its contractual and operational obligations, while ensuring responsive and strategic systems are in place to inform monitoring of quality, performance and financial targets. You will oversee financial management and reporting, human resources, Information technology and data management.
Leading policy development and implementation to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements is also an important aspect of the role, as it the set up and establishment of the internal CRM system.

About the role

About you

Finally, you will possess the ability to work both independently and as part of a team as well as capability to supervise honours and research postgraduate students
You will:
- contribute to developing, teaching, coordinating, and moderating courses;
- undertake teaching and assessment of undergraduate and postgraduate students;
- contribute to the administrative and research activities within the School of Health;
- participate in team projects and various committee meetings as required; and
- supervise students undertaking project courses, honours programs and research higher degrees.

About the Department of Rural Health
The Department of Rural Health is a department within the Melbourne Medical School at the University of Melbourne. The Department is based in Shepparton, Ballarat, Bendigo (in partnership with Monash University and La Trobe University) and Wangaratta and has associations with more than 40 smaller rural towns in Victoria. The key purpose of the Department is to provide professional health education and research training in a rural context with an aim to increase the rural health workforce.
The Department works closely with the local community and healthcare partners to ensure that we remain relevant and connected. Our partnerships underpin our teaching and research. The Department of Rural Health is funded primarily by the Australian Government Department of Health’s Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Program. About the Role
This is a fixed term position until the end of 2024 and will be based in either Shepparton or Wangaratta. While this appointment is full time, there is flexibility to appoint at 0.8 FTE (salary will be pro rata for part time).
The Administration and Events Officer is responsible for the administration of the daily operations of the Goulburn Valley Regional Training Hub (GVRTH) including; administration, event coordination and communications support.
The Administration and Events Officer will provide support to the implementation of the Regional Training Hub program by working with students, local health services, regional training organisations, general practice colleges, post graduate medical councils to support the integration of medical training at the local level.
In a typical week at work, you may:
- Schedule and coordinate online and face to face meetings.
- Track Hub expenditure and review monthly transactions.
- Contribute to planning and organising events. Including sourcing quotes, booking venues, organising catering, booking travel and accommodation.
- Support the Engagement Officer with event promotion including creating power point presentations, flyers, posting social media posts and updating website content.
About You
Your strong communication skills will allow you to liaise with a range of people at all both externally and internally at all levels of the organisation. Providing quality customer service will be a passion of yours, able to do so within a complex working environment. You will have well developed organisation and time management skills, which allow you to complete multiple competing tasks to a high level within set deadlines. Experience with the University of Melbourne's systems and familiarity with relevant policies and procedures is desired, but not essential.
Some work out of normal business hours may be required to support some events and functions.
Ideally, you will further have:
- Completion of a degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education/training
- Demonstrated initiative and strong problem solving skills with the ability to deliver creative solutions.

- Partner with legal officers and domestic violence workers to provide coordinated financial counselling and legal case management.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
