ABOUT THE ROLE

 

We are looking for a highly organised candidate to lead a team of customer focused facilities professionals and manage the coordinated delivery of state-wide facilities services across all Legal Aid NSW tenancies and fleet vehicles. The facilities services that are delivered and coordinated by this role include emergency and security management, preventative and proactive repairs and maintenance, energy usage and supply, cleaning and waste, office relocations, stores and WHS compliance.  The role is also responsible for managing organisational facilities projects.

 

The role involves working on a roster from 8.30am to 5.00pm, occasional contractor supervision over weekends and/or from 6.00am and some physical work such as moving equipment and assessing tenancy issues.

 

ABOUT YOU

The successful applicant will have:

  • proven experience managing a team and coordinating contractors to undertake projects, minor works and maintenance;
  • demonstrated project management skills and experience in managing assets and facilities maintenance;
  • excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (verbal and written), with experience in development of policies and/or guidelines in accordance with legislation and NSW Government Policy;
  • proven commitment to customer service and proven ability to prioritise and manage competing deadlines while working under pressure; and
  • practical experience in security and emergency management for a large organisation.

 

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

 

• Willingness to undertake a Criminal Record Check and/or working with Children Check

• Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, or be an Australian Permanent Resident (essential for ongoing vacancies) or hold a valid working visa (for temporary vacancies)

• Current NSW Driver’s Licence

• Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to commencement

About the role

The Associate Dean Industrial Design is a critical leadership and management role in the school, responsible for driving L&T quality, research leadership and industry engagement for the discipline. In doing so, the Associate Dean is expected to work across disciplines and schools to deliver effective L&T and R&I outcomes.

The Associate Dean is accountable for providing strategic and academic leadership and management to the discipline, consistent with the University and College strategic plans and objectives, and for contributing at a senior level to the strategic planning and development of the school. This is an integrated leadership role that includes learning & teaching, research and industry engagement.

As Associate Dean Industrial Design, you will play a vital role in leading the discipline as it faces the challenges of climate change, digital disruption, new forms of design and making/manufacture, and evolving social and cultural practices and expectations. You will work with the discipline team across the undergraduate and postgraduate degree programs.

As a member of the school executive team the incumbent is required to work collaboratively with all members of the management team and with staff to ensure that the school achieves its strategic objectives.

About You

To be successful in this position, focused within the discipline of industrial design, you'll be required to have the following:

* Strong leadership skills and experience in initiating, leading and managing academic teams and projects in a collegiate environment to deliver strategic objectives

* High level of interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills including the ability to liaise with senior executives and external bodies

* Demonstrated experience in providing L&T leadership and expertise that contributes to improved student outcomes

* Substantial record of academic, research and professional achievement in an area relevant to the discipline, and the capacity to exercise academic leadership to enhance the standing of the School nationally and internationally

The role also plays a significant part in the acceptance process through the lifting of conditions, checking payments in SAMS and issuing eCOEs.

Legal Aid NSW is the largest legal aid agency in Australia, comprising of a Central Sydney office and 28 regional offices in metropolitan and regional centres across NSW and a number of specialist services and advice clinics. It was established under the Legal Aid Commission Act 1979 as an independent authority to assist economically and socially disadvantaged people to understand and protect their rights in the legal system. People with disabilities, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, women and children, Indigenous people and people with mental illness are some of the groups who may experience difficulties when enforcing and defending their rights.

 

Working in partnership with private lawyers, Legal Aid NSW provides free legal advice, information and minor assistance and legal representation to eligible people in many areas of law. Legal Aid NSW also provides alternative dispute resolution services, community legal education programs, publications on legal issues. The core business hours of LawAccess NSW are 9.00am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the team leader, the responsibilities of Information Officer – Legal include:

• Providing timely and accurate legal information and referrals to members of the public through telephone and chat service channels.

• Developing and maintaining sound knowledge of legal information, analysing and responding to questions appropriately.

• Recording and maintaining accurate information regarding customer enquiries and assistance services.

• Participating in developing, maintaining and improving the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, LawAccess Online, legal          information resources, referral protocols and office processes.

• Perform administrative, clerical or research duties.

• Law Access NSW utilises audio call recording for coaching and quality assurance purposes.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role you will have an understanding of the legal system and the legal issues confronted by customers. Your commitment to and experience in providing excellent customer service to a diverse range of customers is essential. You will possess excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, negotiation and conflict resolution. You must demonstrate the ability to use initiative and problem solve, be a team player as well as be able to work individually. You must display resilience and emotional intelligence in challenging situations and you must be able to Work to a schedule / roster in line with LawAccess NSW contact centres performance standards.

About the Role
The Australasian Centre for Italian Studies (ACIS) and the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne offer a two-year ACIS Postdoctoral Fellowship in Italian Studies. About You
You will have an emerging track record of research publications engaged with Italian Studies issues and debates, and a clearly articulated research proposal with an aspect of Italian Studies as its main focus. About the Role

The incumbent will work closely with the project editors, Dr Ross Jones, Associate Provost Professor Marcia Langton, Dr James Waghorne and project management staff in the Indigenous Strategy team (Chancellery Academic) to produce an Indigenous History of the University of Melbourne for publication. The incumbent will also work with a range of internal and external contributors/researchers to produce a range of other outputs e.g.  a platform/resources for a range of educative purposes (such as a breadth subject; contributions to the Student Life ‘Discovery Subjects’ initiatives, cultural awareness training).

The Indigenous History of the University of Melbourne Project is Indigenous-led: guided by a Steering Committee and chaired by the Pro Vice – Chancellor (Indigenous), focussing on the University’s institutional and colonial history and relationship with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, addressing its complicity with respect to eugenics and scientific racism and possible connections to slavery.

This project represents the University’s commitment to Place as a core focus of its Advancing Melbourne strategy, recognising ‘..the importance of our relationship with the Traditional Owners of the lands on which our campuses are located and commits the University to foster reconciliation as a national project of the highest importance’. Likewise, our Reconciliation Action Plan, April 2018 – December 2022 (RAP 3) recognises the opportunity to improve the lived experiences of not only the University’s Indigenous community, but the wider community through promoting Indigenous cultural recognition.

In a typical week at work, you may:

  • Undertake research, including archival research, for the Indigenous History of the University of Melbourne book as required.
  • Contribute to other publications arising from this scholarship and research.
  • Support the project editors with ensuring the manuscript for the book and other publications is publication ready i.e. reviewing content, endnotes and references and liaising with contributors when required.
  • Contribute to the development of other project outputs such as content for webpages, a podcast series, training programs.
  • Attend Steering Committee and regular project meetings to provide advice and progress updates.

About You
