Senior Advisor, Global Partnerships

About You

Reporting to the Associate Director Global Partnerships, you will provide high level advice and support to RMIT University stakehol

ders on global education partnerships that deliver RMIT programs to students outside Australia. You will work collaboratively across the Global Portfolio and with internal and external stakeholder groups to maximise the performance of those partnerships.

You will support the development of new global opportunities, including the creation of partnership agreements for program delivery in multiple countries, and facilitate university processes to ensure key activities are progressed in a timely and effective manner.

Additionally, you will have high level technical skills in partnership management and development, as well as knowledge of and experience with relevant regulatory and academic environments.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

* Experience with management and administration of global education programs.
* Proven skills in costing large programs or projects, and in undertaking financial and statistical analysis.
* Excellent interpersonal and
re
lationship management skills, including in cross cultural environments, as well as highly developed oral and written communication skills.
* Strong conceptual, analytical and research skills.
* Extensive understanding of the tertiary education sector in Australia and in relevant foreign countries and of the financial, legal, regulatory and academic issues relevant to transnational education.
* Experience in project management in an international setting.
* Experience in stakeholder and account management strategies and experience using relevant CRM systems.
* Proven ability to champion collaborative approaches to work and adopt agility and resilience to take on new tasks and challenges in light of a constantly changing external environment.
* A bachelor's degree and preferably a postgraduate qualification.

Sexual Health Promotion Officer (Syphilis)

The Sexual Health Promotion Officer directly reports to the Sexual Health and Blood Borne Viruses Program Coordinator and is accountable to the Executive Manager Public Health and CQI. The position is primarily responsible for increasing awareness in prevention and testing for Sexually Transmissible Infections (STI's) and Blood Borne Viruses (BBV's), with a particular focus on syphilis in Aboriginal people in Western Australia. In accordance with the Fifth National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander STI and BBV Strategy 2018 – 2022. The incumbent will work closely with the Aboriginal Health Council of Western Australia (AHCWA) Member Services to provide a targeted regional response to reduce stigma, increase awareness, and improve testing rates to reduce the transmission rates of STI's and BBV's among Aboriginal people.

About You

To be considered for this position, you must have:

* A relevant qualification in Aboriginal Health, Health Promotion or Public Health or demonstrated experience working in these areas.
* An understanding of continuous quality improvement practices in primary health care.
* Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to develop ideas and opportunities to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
* Knowledge of, or experience in, planning and delivery of health programs for a diverse range of audiences.
* Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
* Knowledge and/or an understanding of the current trends and issues affecting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities throughout the state.
* Demonstrated ability to uphold the principles of cultural safety including an ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
* A current Western Australian Working with Children Card.

Ideally, in addition to be above, we are looking for someone who:

* Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and is acknowledged as such by their community.
* Has relevant clinical knowledge or demonstrated skills in the assessment and management of complex health needs including blood borne viruses and sexually transmissible infections.
* Has experience working within the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health sector and a strong understanding and commitment to the sectors principles.

The position involves working within a multicultural organisation where the majority of employees, clients and stakeholders identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

The Role
  
You will lead and drive the Mulleun Mura Program, working closely with a multidisciplinary team of solicitors, social workers and a senior Aboriginal paralegal to deliver high-quality, trauma informed, accessible legal services and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women. Specifically you will:

  • Manage a mixed case load of family law matters including litigated and children’s matters
  • Provide culturally appropriate legal advice and casework to clients
  • Manage and develop relationships with community and partner organisations and services
  • Develop and influence the strategic direction of the program
  • Ensure consistent and reliable data collection and manage funding reporting
  • Coach and mentor junior staff members

The Mental Health Advocacy Service is based at Legal Aid’s Central Sydney office and provides representation to people in mental health, guardianship and drug and alcohol treatment matters throughout NSW.  That includes the representation of forensic patients. We are looking for a senior lawyer to lead the forensic arm of the MHAS practice. That involves appearing before tribunals and courts, rostering, training, supervising staff, contributing to law reform and proposed changes to legislation, procedures and policies. The successful applicant will be required to attend hospitals and prisons to visit clients for instructions and appearances.

ABOUT THE ROLE

 

Your duties as a Senior Solicitor in the Civil Law Division will include:

• Providing high quality advice, minor assistance and casework services in areas of disability law with specific focus on forensic mental health and intellectual disability law.
• Conduct and supervise other legal officers to ensure an efficient and effective legal practice in accordance with the standards required by Legal Aid NSW
• Community engagement, identifying and attending community and government agency events and meetings. The aim is to promote our services and identify community needs and opportunities
• Assisting with team planning and implementing identified new services. This is a strategic task to help ensure we are meeting Legal Aid’s priorities in targeted and efficient ways

Horizons Programs Manager

MELBOURNE, Victoria Cathy Freeman Foundation

The Cathy Freeman Foundation works with 1600 Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander children and their families across four remote Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander communities (Palm Island and Woorabinda in Queensland, and Wurrumiyanga and Galiwin’ku in the Northern Territory).

Cathy Freeman Foundation is committed to providing child safe and protected environments in all its activities and programs and has a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse or exploitation. Children have the right to be safe and protected.

Reporting to the Programs Director, we are seeking a full time Horizons Program Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract (with possibility of extension).

The Horizons Program in 2022 will run 8 camps – 3 localised camps (Rockhampton, Townsville, and Nhulunbuy), as well as 5 national camps (Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Darwin, and Brisbane). The Horizons Program gives students from our partner schools an opportunity to join their peers from other partner communities for an intensive and empowering personal development experience in Australian capital cities, as well as local regional cities.

With a focus on engaging with Indigenous role models, building self-efficacy, and exploring post- schooling options, the Horizons program is both educational and aspirational. These week-long trips are shared with around 15 other students who return to their school with a better understanding of the opportunities that are available to them outside of their communities.

The Horizons Program Manager oversees all aspects of the Horizons camps, including:

• pre- and post-camp engagements;

• engaging with stakeholders, including families and communities;

• coordinating and supervising local CFF Programs Coordinators during the planning period;

• implementing the program monitoring and evaluation framework within reporting cycles;

• budget development and expenditure; and

• delivery and supervision of the Horizons camps.

The role will require regular travel and being away for extended periods of time.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management (50%)

• Coordinate and administer all aspects of the Horizons program

• Facilitate the activities and events required for the pre and post Horizon camp

• Run 8 Horizons camps per year in various locations across Australia

• Design each individual camp in relation to the age of participants to ensure outcomes are achieved

• Ensure effective and timely communication with school leadership and staff relating to Horizons program

• Work in partnership with Community Program Coordinators to ensure effective communication within community

Stakeholder Management (20%)

• High level management of relationships with key program supplier, Cottage By The Sea

• High level management of relationships with school leadership

• Maintain key working relationships and facilitate open communication with all community stakeholders and program providers

• High level engagement with Principal Partner/s, of Horizons Program.

Reporting, Monitoring & Evaluation (20%)

• Manage all Horizons program monitoring data collection

• Complete all Horizons Quarterly reports

• Participate in CFF Annual Team Week events and activities

• Report to Program Director daily

• Undertake the development of surveys to capture Horizons impact on school workloads and shared student outcomes

General Responsibilities (5%)

• Liaise regularly and maintain full communication of Horizons program management and implementation to the CFF Program Director

• Maintain professional standards reflecting the Cathy Freeman Foundation workplace expectations

• Provide a positive contribution to planning, team meetings and workplace discussions

• Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the CFF Program Director or CEO
