About the role

As Patents and IP Contracts Assistant, you will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Knowledge & Technology Transfer team within the Business Development & Innovation (BDI) group. The IP Team is responsible for supporting the patenting, royalties and IP contract administration activities of RIC.

Working closely with the IP Contracts Officer and the IP Officer, your role will have a particular emphasis on patent administration, royalty receipt and distribution, and IP contract data and records management to support the development and commercial exploitation of the University’s innovative technologies.

About you

You will be a team player with demonstrated experience in supporting a range of stakeholders across a complex organisation. You will have excellent attention to detail with strong experience in accurate data, financial detail and file recording. 

You will further have:

–  Tertiary level qualifications in a relevant area or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training

– Experience with higher education sector intellectual property contract management, including data entry and auditing, reporting and monitoring of compliance with milestones.

– Ability to support patent processes and administration including filing requirements, prosecution deadlines, and renewals.  Experience at a patent or intellectual property firm or higher education sector would be highly regarded.

– Ability to undertake financial administration, including invoicing, requesting accounts payable, and account reconciliation.

–  Proven ability to thrive in a changing and fast paced environment

The Role
The Department of Defence is a key supporter of the Commonwealth National Agreement on Closing the Gap with our commitments outlined in the Defence Reconciliation Action Plan (D-RAP) 2019-2022. The D-RAP includes 61 key actions to support Indigenous personnel, communities and businesses.

As a valued member of our Directorate, you will play a key role in supporting Joint Health Command through the coordination, design and delivery of health initiatives to advance the health outcomes of Australian Defence Force (ADF) Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. 

You will lead the promotion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health projects, showing awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture within the ADF and wider community.

Key accountabilities:

  • Determine requirements in areas of Indigenous Health (eg. needs analysis) and present briefing packs accordingly;
  • Identify, develop, nurture and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders and employ a collaborative approach to drive positive outcomes;
  • Lead the development and implementation of Indigenous Health initiatives across the Defence Health workforce (eg. Health promotion activities);
  • Support the ongoing evaluation of implementation and strategies to ensure continuous improvement and contribution towards Closing the Gap initiatives.
  • Strengthen policies and practices; and
  • Maintain culturally appropriate health education and information promoting health and wellbeing for Indigenous Australians across the ADF Health Workforce.

The current position is ongoing however we will be creating a merit pool to fill similar ongoing and non-ongoing positions that become available within the next 12 months.

About our Team
The Directorate of Defence Health People Reform (DHPR) was established in June 2020 as part of the Operational Health Branch within Joint Health Command. The DHPR is responsible to the Commander Joint Health in their capacity as the Joint Workforce Sponsor. Our goal is to oversee the Defence health workforce (e.g. doctors, nurses, medics and dentist etc.) to meet Defence priorities and operational requirements. About The Role
* Further Programming is an undergraduate Bachelor level course that provides students with and advanced understanding of Object-Orientated software development with a focus on* Architecture and Design and how this relates to programming and implementation. * Strong knowledge of core Java API (Java 8 / 11) development
* Solid experience using Eclipse IDE for Java program development
* Strong understanding of design patterns including MVC, Graphical User Interface development multi-threaded programming and client server application development in Java.
* Online Tutors delivering a Bachelor's level course must have a Master's degree in a suitable content area for the course. Qualifications should be accompanied by relevant industry experience.

About You
The role of the Learning Design Officer will support high quality digital learning for course and programs, specifically RMIT's online learning environments. They will work closely with key stakeholders in the Colleges, Schools and RMIT Studios to support the transformation and enhancement of courses and programs, including the embedding of micro-credentials. The incumbent is expected to respond to School, College and University strategic priorities and support the implementation of digital learning that is consistent with university principles.
 
To be successful in this position, you'll have as a minimum: 
* Knowledge of digital learning principles and practices (experience in Canvas desirable)
* Demonstrated project coordination skill and experience.
* Demonstrated excellent communication skills and proven ability to secure the cooperation and engagement of a wide range of people within a complex environment.
* Well-developed organisational, planning and analytical skills
* Demonstrated ability to encourage and facilitate systems and work practices that are collaborative, support a team environment and adhere to procedures, standards and guidelines.
* Relevant experience in Higher Education desirable but not essential.

About the role(s):

The Indigenous Health Equity Unit at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health is seeking to appoint four Research Assistant/Fellows. The successful applicant/s will be expected to contribute to supporting, developing and managing a program of research and work as part of an Aboriginal-led interdisciplinary research team of Indigenous and non-Indigenous researchers.  The successful applicant/s will benefit from working with a large network of investigators, partners and stakeholders.

The positions represent an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic research team and support research relevant to the urgent public health issues of intergenerational trauma and improving health equity.   You will have experience in supporting academic researchers, have experience working in the field of supporting families or social and emotional wellbeing (in practice, policy or both), and have highly developed communication skills (written and oral). The positions will be provided with a supportive culture where applicants can further develop these skills.

As well as contributing to the overall work of the team and emerging opportunities, each role will have a specific portfolio focus tailored to the interests and skills of the successful applicant/s, including:

  1. Oversight and conduct of quantitative data collection, data analysis, including psychometric evaluation, preparing manuscripts for publication and assisting with preparing grant applications.
  2. Oversight and development of program materials (qualitative and quantitative data collection, ethics submissions, partnerships, educational and implementation materials).
  3. Coordinate parent and service provider discussion groups, analysis and writing up project outcomes.
  4. Conducting high quality Cochrane systematic reviews.
