Allwater are currently seeking a suitably experienced candidate to fulfil the role of Process Technician primarily based at the Christies Beach Waste Water Treatment Plant, for a permanent position.  

Joining an experienced and dedicated team who are part of our Wastewater and Reuse Operations Group, you will play an important role in the effective operation of multiple wastewater treatment plants located at Christies Beach, Aldinga and Myponga. Reporting to the Christies Beach Plant Supervisor, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that the efficient operation of the plants are delivered in a compliant, safe and environmentally sound manner. 
 
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment plants in accordance with business requirements.
  • Monitoring and implementing the necessary operational changes in consultation with the Plant Supervisor. 
  • Participating in site activities to ensure compliance with stringent quality, safety and environmental procedures.
  • Sampling and laboratory testing requirements.
  • Undertaking general operational, technical and plant maintenance duties whilst maintaining documentation in accordance with ISO certification requirements. 

 
To be considered, you will possess excellent interpersonal skills which will enable you to foster positive working relationships with a number of stakeholders. Proven experience in a similar role in water or wastewater treatment, maintenance or operations, will be advantageous along with qualifications in a technical/trade discipline or an Engineering Degree. A methodical approach and high attention to detail will be necessary to record and analyse crucial data effectively. Experience with SCADA and automated control systems is also desirable, as is a good general understanding of IT systems. Your technical aptitude and acumen will ensure that you are able to identify and troubleshoot crucial process issues in a timely and effective manner. A flexible approach to your working hours will also be essential to cover the requirements of this position which include a rostered on-call function.

The Air Weapons Range is located approximately 140kms South/South West (SSW) of RAAF Tindal in Katherine, NT.  A vehicle is provided.

As the Caretaker of Delemere Air Weapons Range your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
• Mowing and slashing as required
• Fire break maintenance
• Cleaning of all accommodation facilities
• Removal of rubbish
• Providing a security presence

 

Skills and Experience

Due to the highly specialised and isolated nature of the Caretaker role, specific competencies are necessary to ensure all required tasks can be completed adequately. As a minimum a Broadspectrum Caretaker will be competent in the following:

Must hold a current C Class vehicle licence
Use of plant and equipment
Well defined written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
Familiarity operating in a Defence Environment is desirable.

Allwater have a full-time, permanent Construction and Maintenance vacancy that we are now seeking internal and external applications for. This position will be based at the Northern Networks Depot (Hope Valley). Within the Networks Construction and Maintenance area, the successful candidate will be required to work across areas including Mains Repairs, Mains Digup, Choke Connections, Sewer Cleaning and Boundary Works. The successful candidate will work 7.6 hour days across a 7 day roster, participate in a 7-day on-call roster and receive 5 weeks of Annual Leave. This role will suit applicants who have experience in a similar role, are keen/fast learners and enjoy having variety in their daily work. 
 
Working closely with the Network Supervisors, Field Coordinators and Network Technicians, successful candidates will be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Reactive and preventative maintenance for wastewater mains, connections and related activities
  • Reactive and preventative maintenance on water mains, water services including water meter replacement and repairs at the meter
  • Shut-off and charging of water mains and the operation of fire plugs and hydrants
  • Location and adjustment of castings and inspections points 
  • Clean-up following burst mains and wastewater overflows 
  • Liaising with the public, as well as internal and external stakeholders
  • Upholding a safe work environment and contributing towards a positive ‘safety’ culture 
  • Ensuring work is carried out with regard to accepted work practices, safety and environmental standards, key and specific performance indicators and timelines and ESCOSA requirements

ACT Corrective Services (ACTCS) is pleased to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated and passionate person to join the Offender Services and Corrections Programs Unit as an Indigenous Case Manager (ASO6) at the Alexander Maconochie Centre (AMC). The successful applicant will assist in the case management of detainees with the AMC operating system to assist in addressing their needs and supporting release and reintegration into the community. Further, you will have the opportunity to provide professional advice, input and support in relation to all aspects of offender management within the AMC. Additionally, you will participate in multi-disciplinary meetings to develop individual case plans and facilitate group programs designed to maximise rehabilitative opportunities for offenders. To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate significant skill and expertise (or a capacity to quickly develop relevant skill and expertise) in developing, implementing and monitoring individualised case plans. You will also be able to demonstrate a capacity for developing useful relationships with detainees to enable the accurate identification of risks and needs.
Eligibility/Other Requirements: This is a designated position and is only open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander ancestry is considered essential (s42, Discrimination Act 1991). The primary focus of this role is assistance for Indigenous clients; however the position holder will also be required to provide case management services and supports to non-indigenous clients. This position will work closely with AMC Indigenous Liaison Officer. Experience working with offenders and relevant tertiary qualifications are highly desirable. Eligible candidates will be required to undergo a criminal history check. Applicants may be required to undertake psychological aptitude testing as part of the assessment process. A current driver’s licence is essential. Prior to commencing in this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
