The Australian Venom Research Unit (AVRU), University of Melbourne, has a position for a highly motivated research assistant. The successful applicant will work as part of the team in AVRU’s Proteomics and Antivenomics Laboratory, utilising an integrated “-omics” approach, combined with bioassays and other techniques to characterise venoms and antivenoms. This work forms the core of AVRU’s basic research agenda, and contributes to studies including (but not limited to) investigations of the evolution of snake venoms, the production of venom and antivenom reference standards, and the design of novel biotherapeutics for the treatment of envenoming.

The successful candidate will hold an Honours or Master’s Degree in a relevant discipline and have experience/knowledge of wet lab procedures involved in protein chemistry and related areas of research. They will be motivated to work as part of a team in a complex and challenging research environment and be prepared to develop new skills. IT Services Coordinator

The Workplace Gender Equality Agency is the Australian Government's key agency charged with supporting and improving gender equality in Australian workplaces. 

Reporting to the Executive Manager Operations this role is responsible for providing high level support to WGEA's technology based projects and has overall responsibility for day to day maintenance, trouble shooting and monitoring of the Agency's information technology systems.

We need an IT all-rounder who is effective in representing the Agency at meetings and on working groups and comfortable liaising with our internal and external stakeholders including our third party service providers.

During the next 12 months the Agency will be implementing a Digital Roadmap including establishing new website functionality. This role will be a crucial part of that process.

Annually over 5000 organisations report online to the Agency and the IT Services Coordinator role is vital in providing technical support and issues management together with the coordination of the testing program for system enhancements.

The key capabilities for success include the ability to provide advice and support across a broad range of information technology systems, working proactively and collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure innovative and quality outcomes for all facets of the Agency's digital presence and service delivery.

Our ideal candidate will have proven track record in successfully organising, maintaining, monitoring and reviewing business application support services to staff, resolving IT service issues, utilising software in the maintenance and updating of web pages and experience in  project support, including planning, scheduling and reporting.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills involving complex information and the ability to communicate information clearly is required along with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work pro-actively in a team environment.

Baseline Security clearance or the ability to obtain clearance required.

The Education Coordinator will provide student educational resources to nursing and allied health students across our regions.  Working with rural health services, this role will provide innovative educational support in health services, via technology assisted tutorials, in online environments and in face-to-face settings.

The Education Coordinator will work with the student placement team at the Department of Rural Health and relevant university and health service partners in order to develop and implement health education programs.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a health setting or similar environment and in the development, coordination and delivery of education programs.

The DRH delivers its education programs across a distributed network of campuses and regional health services distant from the main campus at Parkville and according to targets and attributes prescribed by the Commonwealth funded Rural Medical Training (RMT) and Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training (RHMT) Programmes.

This position reports to the Student Placement Manager.

About the Role
Based at Woomera Defence Establishment, the Infrastructure Services Manager will drive the overall operational management for Estate Upkeep across all managed Defence sites within role scope. This position will optimise the maintenance delivery and monitor specific contract KPI’s whilst ensuring the Defence client’s capability standards are upheld to a high level.
Responsibilities

  • Overview the maintenance plan to ensure that it complements and will not restrict or hinder operational activities occurring on site
  • Provide technical support and advice to Trade Supervisors and Schedulers responsible for delivery areas
  • Managing subcontractors  and holding them accountable to performance and financial standards
  • Play a key role in monitoring and maintaining contract KPIs such as response time, costs and backlog in optimising maintenance delivery
  • Undertake the preparation and control of maintenance, overhauls, modification and refurbishment of fixed plant and town facilities
  • Identify and report non-conforming work
  • Identify and suggest changes which could reduce costs, increase productivity or improve quality, safety or environmental aspects of managed maintenance services

Required Skills & Experience

  • Substantial operational experience in facilities maintenance, especially in large and diverse organisations
  • Computerised maintenance management experience within SAP or similar CMMS
  • Results focused with the ability to identify and prioritise problems and issues, generate solutions and work collaboratively to achieve a successful outcome
  • Tertiary/Post trade qualifications in an engineering or a maintenance discipline; or
  • Trade background with significant experience managing large infrastructure projects and teams

This position requires a person with a high level of resilience, adaptability and resourcefulness to deal with the challenges that come with delivering large scale, ongoing maintenance services across an extremely diverse range of Defence Infrastructure throughout South Australia. Reporting to the Catering Coordinator, you will be responsible for the production of all meal services within the site and manage the delivery from the Kitchen with daily consultation with the Catering Coordinator. You will also ensure all duties are conducted in a safe manner, and in a safe working environment, in accordance with the Food Safety Plan and OHS procedures.
 

Along with the above responsibilities, you will monitor the condition of kitchen equipment ensuring any repairs and maintenance are reported & fixed immediately. You will also be responsible for stock and inventory control activities including stocktakes.

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Chef;
  • The application of HACCP principles to level 2;
  • 3 years previous experience in a similar position, defence or hotel experience highly regarded;
  • Ability to work as part of a large team in an autonomous, unsupervised environment;
  • Ability to operate in a bulk catering facility;
  • Work within Occupational Health and Safety practices in a hospitality environment;
  • Hold a current Level 1 Certificate in First Aid;
  • Valid Driver’s licence.
