INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER FOR THE PERSECUTED CHURCH/SUFFERING SUNDAY

Each year, millions of Christians around the world join in praying for the persecuted church – over 200,000,000 (that’s two hundred million) Christians who are not at liberty to live and practise their faith, because of persecution. The International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church is a time set apart for us to remember thousands of our Christian brothers and sisters around the world who suffer persecution, simply because they confess Jesus Christ as Lord. For IDOP 2009, please reserve Sunday 08 (or 15) November 2009 as the day of prayer for the persecuted church. See www.idop.org closer to the time.
See also “Suffering Church Sunday” resourced by ideas to observe this day at Barnabas Fund website www.barnabasfund.org/scs , on a Sunday of choice during November.
